I've been really busy at work over the last few months and haven't really been paying much attention to my hair other than to brush and braid it quickly before going to work. At the weekend, for the first time in ages, I actually had enough time to give my hair a good conditioning and comb it out and let it dry. (I know I shouldn't, but I normally braid it while it's wet as I cycle to work and don't really have time to let it dry before I leave and I definitely don't have enough time to spend an hour brushing the tangles out when I get to work.)
I'll get to the point now. A few months back, I said my hair was about six inches away from waist length. I was kind of wrong with that statement. That's when it was dry and in a tail. On Saturday morning, loose and wet, it reached my waist. I couldn't believe it. It put a smile on my face that's still there. OK, when it's dry, it still curls up and sits about four inches up, but I know it's getting there now.
I think the stage when it's growing between your mid-back and waist is probably more frustrating than the awkward stage, because you just don't notice any length gains.
Well it's good to give your hair a treat from time to time and spend time looking after it. That's certainly another milestone you are approaching. Do post an update pic when you get a moment.

Thanks, John,
I'll see what I can do about a pic. I've got a couple that have been taken over the years, so I should even be able to do a hair history at some point once I get a current one. Who knows, I may even scan in a couple of me from the first time I grew it 15 years ago!
I'm starting to plan what to do with it for the next badminton season. I've got the summer to work out what to do so that I don't blind myself (or anyone else) with a lashing braid! I suppose the only practical option is a bun, but we'll see.
Yup those milestones are great and always put a smile on ones face.
We look forward to seeing if you get time.
