As I promised in a message a few days ago, here's my 18-month update pics. This is my first shot at putting pics in a message, I hope I do right (I read the FAQ first :-) ).
I just washed my hair this morning, and it's a bit on the "frizzy" side. I wonder if I should have used more conditioner. Due to the thinness over the ears, it looks better pushed behind them. At the moment, I'm aiming at going for terminal length, but we'll see how that goes over time. I'm still going through some 'awkward stage' in the front, it tends to curl in funny directions after sleeping on it after the first day of washing.
These photos were taken with a 1.3MP cell phone camera, so they're not the best quality. I used it to keep the size down.
Age-wise, I'm going to be 48 years old next month. A bit of the dreaded male pattern baldness is setting in, mostly on the top and the back of my head. But it hasn't gotten any worse over the last couple of years, so I'm hoping I can keep what I have.
Your hair looks great!! You will find the right care for your individual hair as you go. We are all different. And you did well on the posting pics too. You might try resizing them first though., making them a bit smaller.
Yeah - I didn't realize they would show up that large on the site. Next time I'll definitely make sure they're smaller. I hope I didn't scare anyone with my ugly mug. LOL.
I hope I didn't scare anyone with my ugly mug. LOL.
Have no fear. We have enough ugly mugs here that we have desensitized the whole group!
Good start on your growth. And welcome to another member of the "Old Farts" here!
Lookin good, Bill. Keep it up its coming in great. Take care now

Even if you are balding a bit, your hair still looks good on your, and I hope it will stay that way, since it stayed that way for the last couple of years, you said. Your hair still looks full from the back. If it really starts balding, let us know.
Regardless
My MySpace - feel free to add me as a friend
Bill, Nice hair update. Great color.
Like the salt and pepper goatee and 'stache.

Hi Bill,
Congratulations on achieving 18 months of growth, and you have come a long ways. If you are concerned about thinning, you might want to consult a dermatogolist, who can prescribe propecia, which has definitely been proven effective to slow down or even reverse hair loss. Be sure to keep it growing!
Take care,
David
Allthough it's a bit receding your hair still looks great on you!
Very nice update Bill. You're only inches, if even, away from true longhairdom. You are well on your way and your hair looks great. Great color too for a gent of 48. Take care.

You've got a handsome mane coming along, Bill. It's getting a nice natural V-shape in the back too.
Just keep experimenting with different routines and you'll find what works for your hair (though what works is subject to change as you get more length).

Looks good, Bill - the graying goat and thinning hair give you a very attractive middle-aged male look. Except for growing the mane more, I wouldn't change a thing! Hey, you also have a great name. [wink]
Welcome to the MLHH!
Bill
I've re-sized my pics and re-uploaded them, so now they'll be much smaller and look better. :-)
Looks great, keep it growing
As for the thinning, here is something to consider if you're willing to experiment and commit to something that might not yield any results for up to a year. However, it's a natural routine and doesn't cost a thing.
I'm 25 and thinning so I'm desperate enough to try it, just started actually. It's a scalp exercise that increases blood flow to the scalp.
Again, not to steal from your thread, it looks great even with the thinning.
