Finally---I've been meaning to ask this for awhile, but have been busy lately.
Okay, so people have mentioned on here that applying oil to the hair and then going outdoors will cook it. Will the same thing happen if a leave-in conditioner (that contains oils) is applied? Here's some examples of the the leave-ins I'm considering

Absolutley not. Some conditioning treatments even work better with heat.
If you ever have a chance to get a GM (George Michael) salon one hour treatment for long hair, they will place a heat cap on your head for one hour.
You can get the GM 12 minute conditioner and do the same thing at home. I think the sun would work great! A lot of people will put the 12 minute conditioner on prior to swimming.
Good luck!
I haven't seen anyone saying that putting oil on your hair going out in the heat would "cook" your hair. Like Mick said, the heat would cause the cuticle to open, so the oil or conditioner will absorb better.
Having said that, the sun itself will bleach hair, and if you have pale skin especially on your scalp, oil that doesn't have a sunblock in it can intensify the sun's rays so you will be more prone to burning your scalp (Ever see someone with pale skin who used plain baby oil for tanning? It's not pretty.)
If you use a bandanna or a cap or something to block the sun, you should be fine going out in the sun with a leave-in conditioner or oil treatment on your hair.
Thanks for the replies Juli414 and Mick. At last I can order that conditioner, no worries! (But I know I read somewhere about oil on the hair damaging it on a sunny day...oh well :P
