Hello guys, today I had an interview. I was notified this morning and I went this afternoon after leaving my actual job at the call center.
Well first of all, they told me to go informal so I went with a nice clean dark blue long sleeved shirt I have, I rolled up the sleeved since I'm in the middle of the world and it's summer, a pair of jeans and some nice shoes I have.
Well it seems everything went pretty much OK, the guy that interviewed me is the brother of a guy I know from college, so I have some points on my side there. He also said he was happy because I seemed like a proactive and creative person which is exactly what they need (I'm pretty sure the pony tail helped me with that part). That and the fact that they have been looking for a web developer for sometime now with no success is making me think I'm gonna get the job.
Anyway, the guy said they would call me tomorrow to schedule the other procedures, since today they just wanted to meet me and they'll do the tests and other things next week.
So it seems I got the job. Know I just have to work my ass off and learn JavaScript and AJAX properly to be able to perform my duties and get the big bucks.
Any way I got some odd looks from the other guys that work there, but the manager was rather uninterested in my ponytail, I guess it's because he is half Spaniard and half French, It seems Europeans don't really mind people having long hair.
On other news, It was rather weird how easy it was to make the pony tail. Not only that I was feeling rather comfortable wearing it, which is something weird.
Thanks for reading, I'll let you know if I get the job.
Hi Nelo ! Good luck ! i'm glad it went well.

Hi Nelo,
I'm glad the interview went well and I hope it's positive news and you get the job.
That's the trouble with some people in life they go on looks and not the experience that you can do the job. I'm sure thats not the case with this. I know living in Europe alot of people don't even bother if you have longhair. Oh unless is some stupid company in Nottingham that has highlighted in the news a couple of weeks ago but that seems to be in isolated incident.
Cheers,
John.
Grats man! Nice when things fall into place well eh?
Good luck!!
I was smileing ear to ear after reading your post, I'm glad to hear it went well and that you were comfortable and confident. Ponytails come in handy especially on windy days.
Good luck with Java, everytime I or somebody I know downloads the latest update strange thinga happen.
Keep us posted.
Kevin
I'm really glad to hear this may work out for you. It's good that you went in more confidently this time and felt more comfortable with your hair tailed back.
Good luck!
Looks like your job did not mind your hair. By the way, when I go in for an interview, I will ponytail my hair. Obviously, I will dress nice for the interview. I would like to wait till I can put my hair in a complete ponytail before going in for an interview. If they tell me to cut my hair, forget it. There is no need to have a haircut for computers and programming. I want to be who I want to be.
Regardless
