It's beautiful, I think most everyone looks better with long hair; (especially guys), it's so naturally attractive. It creates a nice frame for the face.. There was a guy I once saw who had long red-brown straight hair pulled back in a pony tail; the color of his hair was so natural and uncommon and the fact that he wore it long said that he is really comfortable with how he was made and who he is in general. There are so many guys who cut all there hair off and glop gel and hairspray on it to wear it in a "style" so they can be attractive. These guys miss the point..!. There is so much more beauty in seeing someone embrace there natural attributes without having to lean on pop culture for guidance and aid to express who they are; and why/what's supposed to make them beautiful in anyone's eyes. It's being true to what you are given and how you are naturally made. and that's very sexy... Rare also..
Wow, thanks.
just to tell u Tina, i'm just putting gel in my hair cause i'm in the awkard stage, but i'm alomost done...
My natural beauty is coming, beware...
lol!
I usually lurk, but I have to respond to this one.
I have loved long hair on guys since I was 12, for more than half my life. All of the long haired guys I know have mellow personalities and generally are less fake than their short-haired brothers. Two of my closest friends of all time had hair to their shoulder blades. Mens hair tends to be less chemically damaged than women with hair the same length, so it tends to be more beautiful the longer it gets. There's just something about seeing a man with all-one-length long healthy hair that gets me in a tizzy, I can't explain it. It shows perseverence to the long hair cause, which to me as a lady with tailbone length hair, is a very important trait because who else would understand the difficulties of long hair maintenance? It shows a strength that comes from within to stand against the conventional societial norm for men to have short hair. I started asking my friends why they keep their hair long, and the most common answer I got was because it just feels right.
Why I love long hair on guys: You can't run your fingers through a gel-sticky head and come up with that wonderful smell of hair.
Good to hear from girls what they think about long hair on men. I would have long hair, either if girls liked it or not, because like you said, it just feels right, but it is nice to know that there are some girls somewhere, that like long hair on men.
Right on, my own hair is to my hips; and I LOVE it. Have any overflow of mellow long haired guys you could send my way? lol! I'm lookin ;p haha
It's funny. I am a guy but i agree completely with you Tina. I always thought exactly that, you just expressed it so much better. And it is so nice to hear about how girls like long hair on men.
Comfortable with how one is made, who one is, embracing one's natural attributes, self-expression, being true etc....all are marks also I believe of genuine self-respect. If so then long hair achieves so much for so little, male or female.
Have you ever tried to get across some of these thoughts for example say to women who dislike/ hate long hair on men ? Did they have long hair themselves ? Did they perhaps see it all on a completely different plane altogether ? If not it'd be interesting to find out one day perhaps ?
Elegantly put btw ....! :-)
Most women that I have heard the "I don't like men with long hair" from have had hair that is shoulder length and shorter. Kind of token female charistics on not very interesting women. They usually like the very short haired business types ($) or drunk fratboy/jock types.
....LOL ! ! ;-)
And the interesting thing is, that my sister and mother fit that stereotype. Except that they do prefer the former. At the same time, though, my sister did once think that a guy who had a very curly ponytail that was about 4-6 inches long was cute, yet she thinks that I should have the "very short haired business type" style of look. Oh, and she loved the Highlander series on TV. Go figure. All I know is that when I'm 65 and she's 68, she will still be telling me to go get a haircut. By then, though maybe things will have changed and she'll actually prefer having my hair long.
-J (who's current goal is tailbone length - currently between "all over shoulders" and mid-back length)
