Hey fellow long-hairs,
I'm looking for an honest opinion about possibly changing my hairstyle. Lately I've been getting made fun of a lot by my friends and family about the length of my hair.
The most frequent jokes are, "Hey buddy, the early to mid-nighties called, and they want their hair back!" And all can say is, "Tell them I'll them back....psyche!"
Anyways, attached is my photo, so let me know what you think...should I go short? Or is there another way to wear these lovely locks?
Thanks guys!
Hi there,
Thanks for posting a pic.
You hair looks great and lovely natural colour. At the end of the day it's your hair and it's up to you how you feel best with it. You certainly have come this far in growing it out and it suits you well. I certainly wouldn't wouldn't be ruled my friends and family. Some of us have got a lot of stick over the years but if you want longhair stick to your guns and ignore them. The more you do they will get bored and loese interest I'm sure.
I wish you the best of luck whatever you decide.
Cheers,
John.B
Your name says it all, man; you love having long hair. I vote to keep it and hold out.
The most important thing is that you "...are loving it"
....and besides that, it looks fantastic

Welcome Long n' Lovin' it,
Your choice of username says it all. You love long beautiful hair especially on yourself, so don't let ANYONE not even your own family force you into cutting it. About the whole "80s comment", I personally think the 80s were the best years of culture and music that this country has every seen, other than the hippy 60s. I love your hair the way it is right now so you can put me down as one person at least who wants want you also want for yourself, to keep growing out your mane. Keep us updated!
I hate to rain on your friends' parade, but long hair was common WELL before the '80s. Your pic is a bit washed out, but from what I see you look great. If you like it, keep the long hair. After all, it's your head, not your friends'!

Not much more I can add as the others posted great responses. However to answer your question ..."Should I go short"...the answer is as follows.....NO!Case closed! As for your other question regarding how to wear your hair I'd say just let it get to a longer length and then you can decide what works best for you be it a plain old tail, braid, bun, etc.Anyway good luck with your journey and keep the family and friends at bay.

Comebacks to the above comment:
"Hey, the early to mid-nineties can go find their own hair. Mine is not leaving my head!"
"Hey, jealousy called, you can't have my hair, so grow your own!"
"Hey, the future calls, I'll be naturally in style, you will have to pay for extensions!"
Then again, you can just tune them out completely, and ignore the inane comments. :-)
And you know what they say about opinions, everyone has them just like they all share a certain part of anatomy. And even honest opinions can come from total @zzes. :-D
Welcome!
I'd say you need not worry of the comments, and being that they're your friends, I would just joke back with them or play along as I'm sure you do. Speaking of the early 90's, I definatly do see some Cobainishness in your hair (due to the color/length)! The comments will come and you'll stop caring and soon good comments will come as well. Well you're more than off to a good start, your hair is a great color, at a long length, and has an awesome wavy texture. Thanks for sharing a photo and, again welcome!

My honest opinion is that your hair looks just great the way it is. It won't be long before it's grown out some more and it just looks like plain old long hair, which of course belongs to every era, epoch and decade.
Just keep it growing!

In my honest opinion if you have a hard time with the comments people make and they bother you then perhaps you better not grow it out. Part of the longhair experience is dealing with the comments and stupidity of some people. If your not up for it you won't enjoy the experience.
My 2 cents

They may be your friends and they may be your close family but that doesn't preclude them from being close minded. Part of being Longhair is being a free thinker. It has nothing to do with the 80's, 70's, 60's or anyother decade they want to drag up from the past!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't you dare cut it; it looks great. Red hair rules! Long red hair even rules more.
People will make fun of you and your hair. Just don't take it seriously. Sure, there were a few people who told me to get a haircut. There was one rude user online that told me to get a haircut. There were also a couple of people from Special Olympics who thinks I look better with my hair short. My dad also have some issues with my long hair, and he trimmed my hair for my cousin's wedding, which I later regret.
Regardless
