sup long haired people, i have been growing out my hair for i guess anywhere from 7-9 months i dont remember, but i have some questions if anybody wants to answer them. how often should i keep washing my hair, and how many more months will it take to be truly long hair. this forumn is pretty chill.
We'll I usually wash it two times a week and it works for me, however if you have very greasy hair, you should go for three or four times a week..
Getting a pony tail would take between 36 and 48 months I'd say depending on the length you had when you started, also it'll take a little longer if you have really curly hair, but I see you don't.
Anyways, you hair looks nice man, keep it growing.
And welcome to the hyperboard.

Hey Chris, welcome to the board. Try washing your hair every other day or every 3 days. Its better to get the natural oil from your scalp to set into your hair by not washing it every day. I also would say that it already is starting to look like you have long hair, but like a medium long hair style. Well like i said welcome to the board and would like to see more progress updates in the future.

Wash it when it's dirty. Always use conditioner; And stay away from sharp instruments. It's looks great and in another 9 months I be you can pony it pretty good.
Welcome Chris. Your hair looks nice, and it is already medium-length. I wash my hair once a week, but you should go for twice. You will start truly having long hair in a year.

I say wash your hair when it looks like it needs it. Every other day or so until it gets longer. Should be little less than a year and you'll be a legit long hair. Welcome to the board.
Welcome new member Chris! Being a longhair is a state of mind. There is no formula that says when x is equal to y, you're a longhair. When you feel you're past a point in your mind that screams "my hair is not just long it's LONG!!
" you're a longhair...you'll know it. As far as washing, I sometimes only wash once a week, but everyone is different. Like Quester says "Wash it when it's dirty" Again you'll know.

Hi Chris,
Welcome to the board. As far as washing, I do every other day...it's all about preference. I would say that you have a year before it's "true" longhair depending on how fast it grows (6-8 inches MORE = long hair); but you're off to a good start and well away from being a "shorthair" at least haha. You're right about the board, it's a great place to find both long-hair support and friends.

Hi Chris and welcome! Your hair is already quite long compared to the average these days. In another year, you'll really be feeling like a longhair.
As to washing, there are no hard and fast rules. Everyone does what works best for them. I wash every other day.
