Returned from graspop yesterday but I was to tired to do anything.
So here's my post how it was, on request.
We arived at the camping on thursday, we didn't have to wait very long before we were inside.
It was quite a walk to other side of the camping, especialy with all the beer and food we took with us. The fist night we spend drinking beer and making new friends all around the campsite.
About the festival, the festival site was about 10min walk from the campsite. Over there we had to wait 30min in the burning sun before we had bought coins for some drinks. Seems like a long time but some people waited for 2 hours over there! With a huge crowd like this there should be a lot more places where you can buy coins. We bought enough coins for the whole weekend right away. The cash machine also had a long line but I took enough money with me so that didn't bother me. After that I never had to wait long, the bars and food where quick.
I saw a lot of bands, also a lot I didn't know before. John B. I checked out the Novembers Doom show and they were great, thanks for the tip.
Opeth cancelled there show due to sickness so I didn't see them, but because of that I went to the main stage very early and had very good places for Iron Maiden. That was the most awesome show of the weekend.
I had a great time and will definately go there again.
Awesome man glad you had a great time! I just checked out the bill for that festival and I can't see how you couldn't have a great time. Did you get to see Priest & Immortal? (I'm goin' to see JP in August). I can't believe the amount of awesome and legendary bands that played there, you're lucky to have experienced it man. Take care Vincent.

I saw all three headliners of course (priest, kiss, maiden), The priest show was good although you can notice Rob is getting old he has more trouble with the high notes. But it was nevertheless a great show.
From Immortal I saw about half the show I think, after that we went to another show.
Hahaha yea I agree with what your saying about Halford; although still the metalgod, he's gotta take it easier these days. I think, judging by the dissapointing non-heavyness of the new album, he burned a lot of his voice out doing Angel of Retrebution & that tour (Which kicked ass!); still the metalgod in my book though!
Good to hear from you Vincent, and I'm sure it was a blast...post some photos if you took any!

I didn't take pictures but my friends did, when I get hold of the pictures I will post some here.
Hi Vincent,
I'm glad you had a great weekend at the festival and it's one I've not been to and certainly will be going in the future at some point. You drive right by the town on he "bumpy" Belgium motorway as I go to Eindhoven or to Wacken.
I'm glad you got to see Novembers Doom and they do have a big following in the Benelux countries. You also saw some great headliners as well and shame about Opeth.
Oh well it's my chance in a few weeks as we do our annual trip to Wacken and of course this year will be a double report. Roll on end of July and I still would not have sold my ticket!
Cheers,
John.B
Yeah the road in Belgium is not the best, we came cruising with 160kmph and suddenly the road changed. Were all shouting were in Belgium :p
Yeah I will definately get some music of them, I didn't know them before I went to the festival.
Wacken is definately a festival I want to visit, to bad most of the years I can't go because of other activities.
I remember my first Wacken trip I queued up for the cash point for three hours, after that I learned my lessoon and make sure to have loads of Euros when I arrive. We usually stop at a German supermarket before we get there and load up on beer and food.
Your post made me think of Wacken and only 4 weeks to go. I have an extra ticket if you want to come along....LOL We could even pick you up on the way through. although you've seen Maiiden already. (grin)
Glad you had a good time.
Kevin
Yeah is always good to take a lot of cash with you, waiting in line is a waste of time.
Thanks for the offer, I really want to go to wacken but I'm already on vacation then. Have a good time over there.
