I read your message from last Tuesday and was worried about you, man. You sounded like someone in a real fix at your private Catholic school. I really sympathized with you. Could you give us an update on your situation? Are you still growing it long?
For what it's worth: would you care to give us the name of the school? I'd be interested to know what kind of institution would harass kids like this. Thanks and good luck.
Yeh plus you said that there were other silly rules in your school as well. What are they? In my school it was actually illegal to have shaven hair/skinhead as well as long hair.
Thad is mad ! Sick ! >:-(
It's hard to believe stuff like that goes on in the world, isn't it? Kinda makes me sad. And angry. Even when I had short hair!
me too. on the first day of school one year my hair was pretty short, and they called it extreme, but needless to say, that did not make my hair grow any faster.
i also was eventually made to cut my hair. ironically, i also got kicked out of mandatory senior prom because of my hair.
but what i consider to be good is that they never made some people conform to a certain rule without enforcing it on everyone. they were consistant. i guess that is good.
Yeah, I'm still here. I posted an update a while ago but the post is so far down the board now that I doubt anyone has seen it. The disciplinarian just decided to lay off me. I think he just wanted to use me as an example for everyone else, and I guess he realized that he got the message across(he DID followed through on making this other guy cut his hair and mine is still way longer than his was). So since he knows me and my family pretty well, he's leaving me alone for now. For those of you who care to know, the name of the school is Jesuit High School. Like I said before, it's an institution run by Jesuit priests (Catholics for those of you who don't know); and they're very very conservative and stereotypical when it comes to us students. Yeah, Adriano, we're not supposed to have shaved heads either. But they'll let football players and other such jocks shave their heads. Bias in favor of sports teams isn't something that you all should be unfamiliar with though. Some other stupid rules are things like: we can't leave our bags in the hallways unattended at anytime; we have to have polished shoes, nametags, and such; and all sorts of other uptight things like that. There are other ones that are worse; I just can't think of them off the top of my head. Well that's it really. I understand why it makes some of you mad. I've had to put up with it for almost 5 years now! I just hope I get left alone about my hair for the rest of this school year, which is quickly coming to an end.
Is that in Tampa, FL????
It's in New Orleans, LA
