How many inches ( minimum )i need for a Ponytail ... i dont have a big head
I guess you could say the "minimum" ponytail length is the point at which most of your hair would easily pass through a Tie placed somewhere at the back of your head, hopefully resulting in a small but decent looking "tail".
The actual length required will vary from person to person, dependant on if your hair is straight/curly, where you want to have the "Tie" [males tend to go for the neckline] and when the end appearance is acceptable to you.
My own [curly, tied behind the ears] hair was over 9" average length before I felt "comfortable" with a tail and even then, the loose ends had to be held in place with a few [discreetly sited] Bobby Pins.
You could place a piece of string, or a cloth tape measure etc over your scalp as a rough gauge of how long your own particular hair will need to be. Once you have an idea of the length you need, you can then work out approximatly how long it will take you to get there, on the basis that human hair grows on average by half an inch per month.
Hopefully the timescale indicated will not prove too off-putting!
Some times if you can pull of your hair into a tie or hair band it would look like a scared cat tail, use some gel to make it smooth and easy to manage.
