Took a trip yesterday to the fabulous coast of this state of Oregon. The beach: Cannon Beach. In back of yours truly can be seen the spectacular Haystack Rock, I believe the 4th largest of its kind in the world. The day was cloudy and not too many actually ventured on to the beach itself and stayed in the quaint coastal village exploring the many unique shops there. Truly one of the most spectacular and breathtaking view areas that I know of in the entire Pacific Northwest. (Not me, the scenery all around from the Ocean itself to the Pacific Coastal Range which seems to emerge right from the waters edge.) Unbelievable to behold and no camera can capture what has to be seen in person.

Hi Justin!
Wow thats some awesome scenery as I can honestly say nothing like that exists here in New Joisey!LOL.We do have quite a bit of coastline but for the most part is quite boring when compared to the Pacific coast. After visiting CA this past April its just a reminder as to why am I still here on the east coast.
Hey Justin I have noticed that you are looking great as of late and I can tell that gym workout is paying dividends. You look so healthy and in great shape right now and your fabulous hair is the topper:)Thanks also for speaking with me this past weekend when I called as I hope I didn't keep you from your errands.Being associated with you and the mlhh has been a dream come true.I'm honored to be a part of this as otherwise I never would have met such nice people:)Please do keep in touch my friend!
Mark
Hey Mark! :-)
You know what Mark? When I first came out here in the late 80's to look the place over I fell in love with it and RACED to remove myself from CT. forever! And, I have not, nor shall I EVER return to that horrid climate for the rest of my life. Life is just too short to put-up with that part of the Country, that is "unless" one enjoys freezing Winters, falling on ice and having people step over you, shoveling snow, Spring floods, and hot and humid Summers with pollution so dense it burns the eyes and could almost be cut with a knife.
Thank you so much for such kind remarks, and yes, the Gym is doing wonders and it hasn't been 3 weeks yet. Now that my disease is under control I fight it with all I can that it hates. In addition to the extra exercise, it loathes Cinnamon, Chocolate with no sugar added, and pepper....the hotter the better! And of course the more fiber in the diet the slower speed of Glucose exchange. The Scientists' are a bit baffled by just what it happening, but it sure works! :-) And talking with you on the phone was just great. You are so up-beat about everything Mark. I felt so honoured.
Hope you had a great 4th of July.
Take care and until later.
Justin~
I took this photo several years ago high above Cannon Beach from Acola State Park on a sunny day. The dramatic scenery is absolutely glorious beyond belief!
Justin, An awesome location and a fantastic photograph. You're quite a talented photographer.
peace, jonalbear
Hi again jonalbear-
Thanks for the compliment, but alas, I don't think it was talent on my part. The scenery is so gorgeous it would be impossible to take a bad picture. LOL :-)
Justin~
Hi Justin,
Thank you for sharing these wonderful photos, of this beautiful state which you are blessed to call your home. It is my wish that I might have the chance to drive through your home state as part of my road trip next year.
Also, your long hair is looking fabulous, and I can tell that your trips to the gym are paying off, in spades! May you ne blessed with many years of good health, and feeling better every day.
Take care,
David
Hey David! :-)
So glad you enjoyed the photos and I KNOW when you make the trip out here next year you will LOVE the scenery. I have NEVER heard of a single person who didn't. One of the most photographed coastlines in the world and seen in pictures everywhere all the time.
And of my long hair, you are so kind with your compliments.
Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU ever so much.
Take care David and hope you are having a wonderful day.
Justin~
Justin, Nice shot. Great spot, awesome smile! Like your Russian Imperial Firebird t shirt.
peace, jonalbear
Hi jonalbear!
So glad you liked the view. It is the type of view that is very difficult to forget. And of that shirt? Just got it and I like it too. Hope all is going well with you.
Take care-
Justin~
Oh, very nice. You look so happy in these pix. That's always good to see. This looks very much like wild parts of the Northern California coast, so I can appreciate the beauty, and yes pictures don't do it justice.
Hey Steve
You are indeed correct. The northern coast of CA. IS a bit similar before the influence of OR. fades-out. LOL :-)
As for myself, I have never been happier. Once one has been stalked by and nearly captured by the "Grim Reaper" but escaped just in time thanks to insulin, all priorities having to do with life suddenly take on a whole new light.
Justin~
I used to live in Astoria a loooong time ago. That was one of my fav places. Is the ship still run aground there?
Yes! That ship, The Peter Iredale is still holding its own in Clatsop. Of course the wood has long since vanished, but quite a bit of the metal frame is still wedged in the sand and you can actually walk inside at low tide. 100 years later........and still on display! They really knew how to build 'em back then.
Justin~
ps: The "Column" in Astoria was restored about 10 years ago. You would just never believe the work involved and what was uncovered.
That looks amazing, especialy the pic you took a few years ago.
It truly is amazing and I appreciate your ever so kind comment about that photo of a few years ago. For once I got a good pic!
All the best-
Justin~
Wow, and look at that huge fossil in front of the rock, what a great day for all geologists ;-) ;-)
Joking aside, its a super picture of you Justin, and the film you sent me was great, you do actually exist then??!!
Cheers, Dave
Fossil? Fossil? FOSSIL? Sorry Dave, I always thought that as well until a few days ago when being examined by a doctor. I am now about to be declared the "MISSING-LINK!" Can you believe......and a "living" one at that! Oh..........if only Darwin were still here. Such a shame he missed me. Wah!
Hey.........just had another taken today. I'll send it to you.
Thanks Dave for always being the best.
Justin~
WOW Justin thats an amazing Rock.
That does look like a very scenic place and one of these days I'll get myself out that way. Would have done it earlier this year but time constraints forbid it.
Take care
Kevin
Hey Kevin :-)
Yes.........absolutely amazing. If only you could see the hundreds of feet high it must be. Just you wait, one of these days I will show it to you.
Hope your 4th of July was a great one.
Take care-
Justin~
Amazing photos Justin! The scenery is just beautiful. As for yourself, looking great!
Hey Chris. Many thanks for the compliments. If you could only see this part of the country for yourself, you would just never believe!
Fear ye not. I shall be getting to email you yet. Much has been going on and I just finished my 2nd colouration of the Titanic. (Before it sank of course.) LOL :-)
Take care and hope all is well with you.
Justin~
HAHA! I can't wait to see this work of art that you've just described :-)
...and healthy...and happy!
Whatever you are doing...
...keep it up!
I sure will Luckskind. Hope all is well with you and that you are painting up a storm these days. My best to you always.
Justin~
Love the ocean, I envy those who live near it. Never seen the Pacific but I try to get to the Atlantic every summer.
BTW ... you look great!
Karsten
Hey Karsten
Luckily I have never lived all that far from an Ocean, be it the Atlantic or Pacific all my life. Couldn't imagine life without being able to go to the beach every now and then. The sea air is just so great and makes one feel really good. Many thanks for your kind words about how good I am looking. (Hope that mask and costumn stays glued in place and that the Gorilla Glue will hold.) LOL
Justin~
And if there's one state who's coastline is indeed drop-dead GORGEOUS, I agree that it's OREGON!!! (Not that Calif. ain't all that bad, either; it's just that you have more wilderness scenery than we do!)
And speaking of finding a longhaired needle in a haystack, I - I - I - mean a longhaired rock called Haystack, I - I - I mean a longhair near Haystack Rock... Who is that STUNNING young longhair in the foreground?? Well, whoever it is, he certainly looks GREAT, --- and fits in PERFECTLY with that excellent Pacific Coast scenery!
Lookin' good there, Justin!
Long Lox 4ever,
Ken
Hey Ken! :-)
I seem to remember that in Northern CA. that there WAS more wilderness at one time, but unfortunately the greed of man destroyed almost all of the Redwoods and other tall trees.............at least from about Santa Cruz up the coast to where you are.
Hmmmmmm. Wonder who that is? I saw many on the beach including some bearded freak who's hair looked like combed seaweed! Can you imagine! Must have been washed-up on the beach in a standing position. Later in the day he saw someone with their back turned to him in a Maroon coat and I never saw anyone run away faster! LOL :-)
Thanks so much Ken. You are always far too kind.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Justin~
A cool picture. It looks like the water is a little too cool for swimming, however.
Regardless
My MySpace - feel free to add me as a friend
Hey Regardless
Would you believe that the water is the same temp. year round? And, too cold for me. Yikes! Something like 50 or 60 degress.
Justin~
Hi Justin,
That looks an amazing place and a lovely picture. It's on my list of places to visit just like Portland is, you've certainly been keeping a great secret there.
Cheers,
John.B
Hi John
Yes indeed, it is just so amazing to be living in an area such as I am. Too bad so many have learned the secret and moved into the area that at times it makes one feel as if they have to "paw" their way through the crowds. Good thing I have a cave to retreat to. Whew! Take care-
Justin~
Those pics are absolutely beautiful, Justin. And of course the longhair in the middle of it all looks great too. :-)
