Hi everyone, my chaotic hair still seems to be growing well, I am shedding very little at the moment and only have a handful of split ends. The ends themselves are very blunt and thick which indicates I can grow a lot longer yet. Cool!

Chaotic? No way Dave. More like absolutely fantastic! And does your long hair EVER look great! Actually a party should be held in its honour. (Longhairs welcomed only of course.) LOL :-)
And of the shedding very little. The same is also happening to myself at the moment, but my big yearly shedding time is nearing. Guess it must be a cycle or something.
So glad the ends of your hair are still nice and blunt. Hope your hair makes it just as long as you hope to grow it. You are truly one of the greatest sources of inspiration for all of us who visit this amazing MLHH site.

I love your hair! You have the kind of texture I dream of. I love the natural wave formation you have, I wish my naturally straight hair would form the kind of waves you get without effort it seems! And speaking as someone who graduated from an accredited beauty school and has a license to practice cosmetology, your ends are healthy and DON'T need a trim whatsoever. I have held on to my split ends for a whole year now, and I know I would never have achieved the waist length mane I have now had I followed the old "trim every 6 weeks" lie that most hairstylists tell you so that they can earn more money. Just keep growing to your desired length Dave.<3
Thanks Eric, thats pretty much what I thought, leave the few splits and just keep growing, a hairdresser looked at my hair a few months ago and said what good condition it was in.

Dave, good for you. I got a bathtub drain hair trap last week for the purpose of counting lost hairs and took a count on two occasions. the average was around 75 or 80.

Hi Markie-babes, and thankyou as always for your kind reply. You know I do nothing to my hair apart from wash with water and condition maybe twice a week, no brushing, no fiddling, no maintenance!! Maybe not recommended but it works for me.

There is nothing wrong with having chaotic hair and suits you well and is part of you and how you look and we are all unique. Great update pic and keep it growing. We all have a little shredding and split ends and blunt and thick is good (oopps awww eh trimmers!!!) and nothing with us hair farmers.

It is still growing and looks fantastic, Dave. With minimum shedding and blunt ends, you may be able to reach waist length.

Use multiple hair ties at about 10 centimeter intervals to prevent tangling. It works for me.
My hair reaches the crease at the back of my knees, so I fold my hair and secure it with a hair grip as well. Otherwise I sit on it and that hurts.
