Inspired by the recent firefighter picture, here's my low rent take since I haven't posted a picture in a long time. I live in the Santa Cruz Mountains, CA just a few miles from 2 recent big fires. On a really smokey day I realized that if a fire ever got closer, which it very well could some day, I'd better have some equipment to go with my super long garden hose in front.
I can see why agencies have rules about long hair since I had to fiddle a while to get this stuff on the best way. Should it be over the hair or under, etc. It worked best over the hair and can't be shaken off. As long as embers don't land in my sometimes oily hair, I'll be fine!
Not bad as it looks like the mask has some killer sideburns going there!LOL.Seriously be careful out there playing with fire as it definately is not compatible with longhair. One wrong move with the flames and years worth of hard work could be gone.Just a safety tip from your friendly mlhher:)Take care my friend and be safe.

I would say it needs to over the hair for sure. I would also suggest that maybe you look into a nomex hood also. You can find them on ebay for $20-$30 and in my eyes that is a small investment to keep your hair a little safer. Just remember, when protecting your house, to sing that old song: You gotta know when to hold em, know when to fold em! Don't put yourself in danger to save your home. It can be replaced, but you can't!!!! Brian
I just checked EBay, and sure enough that's the case. I'll check it out. Good suggestion. This is definitely wildland interface country here although my own property has been kept clear of brush. Doesn't hurt to be ready.
I've planned things out a bit, but I know a bunch of things may likely go wrong in a real situation, so I'll be careful. Thanks.
