hello all my names eric im 15 from ny and i was looking at the board and everyone seemed nice so i figured id come here and ask for suggestions on what to do with really dry ends should i just trim them or should i do somethings esle my hairs about 15 inches long i started growing it last summer
We've got a LOT of longhaired Erics here LOL!
Judging from your pic, your ends look thick and healthy and DON'T need a trim at all. Your hair might be experiencing an overall feeling of dryness because during the summer months the radiation from the sun is much stronger. You should use a lot more conditioner(don't apply it on your scalp, just the hair from your ears down) and leave it in longer say at least 5 minutes before you rinse it out.
This has been a helpful tip from one Eric to another!
thanks that chould be it i am an avid outdoorsman (and partially nocturnal mom hates it) and yea i noticed theres alot of erics here maybe our name should just be like the world steriotype for longhairs? lol
I know, the name Eric should legally only be granted to men who chose to grow their hair long! I do have a suggestion though, since you love the outdoors I definitely recommend that you start ponytailing your hair. Wearing it out just gives tree branches all the opportunity to catch on it or the wind every chance it gets to mess it up and tangle it. I'm in NYC so the weather can't be all that different from where you are, so I know we both must experience thunderstorms this time of year. A ponytail is the only style that makes sense if you're ever caught in a sudden downpour without an umbrella!
ye i wear mine up most of the time and im only say uhhhh 50 miles north of ya lol i live next to the river
thaqnks for the suggestions
Hi eric and a big welcome to the world famous mlhh!First of all you are very correct in your statement about the users of this board being very nice people.I too feel the same way as I am totally comfortable writing about myself and posting pics on occasion. This is such a nice place to visit for guys that want longhair and don't have someone to turn to when things get dicey. When I was growing my hair out many moons ago there was no mlhh or internet for that matter. But I prevailed and will always be a longhair:)
OK now on to your question.Right now with the heat and humidity I have been having the same problem and this is what I did last night as it seems to have helped.I first washed my hair with a very small amount of Infusium anti frizz shampoo as I had these pesky shorthairs on top of my head sticking out everywhere.Afterward I used my usual Infusium step 2 conditioner and after towel drying my hair I added a very small amount of olive oil moisturizing hair lotion to the ends. This morning my hair looks and feels so much better than yesterday. So maybe this might work for you too but I realize everyones hair is different.Anyway hope this helps some and glad to have you aboard here my friend.have a great day:)
Mark
thanks mark il pick some up as soon as i can get into the main part of town
Welcome Eric, your hair looks to be good condition, but if you're worried about dry ends then try a leave in conditioner as Mark (Hairball) suggested. I use Garnier Fuctis Sleek and Shine but any good quality product should be benificial (stay away from the bargian basement stuff!)
