Hi everyone,
I am not sure if this has been brought up in the past, so I'll mention it now: those of you interested in reading about hair might find the entry for hair in Wikipedia a good place to start.
The top level entry covers such aspects of hair as its evolution, what happens to our hair as we age, hair loss and genuine preventative measures (see Baldness treatments), pathological impacts on hair growth, and cultural and historical hair style practices including long hair amongst men (see also Ponytail). Link to get you started is below:
Wikipedia: Hair (English)
Hey Rob, Thanks for posting the link to the Wikipedia hair entry.
A very interesting read.

You're welcome JB; I was just wondering if it should be added to the MLHH Links page.
It has also been advanced that short hair on men has been enforced as a means of control, as shown in the military and police and other forces that require obedience and discipline. Additionally, slaves and defeated armies were often required to shave their heads, in both pre-medieval Europe and China.
-hair Wikipedia
The practice of head shaving has often been used to punish people, such as criminals or political opponents.[1] Especially for women, the act of shaving off an offender's hair serves to humiliate the victim and remind them of their offense. For example, thousands of European women had their heads shaved in front of cheering crowds in the wake of World War II, as punishment for associating with occupying Nazis during the war. As of 2006, several countries such as the United States, Libya and Russia still shaved the heads of prison inmates as a punishment, and also to prevent the spread of lice. Inmates of boot camps for delinquent youths in the USA are forced to have their heads shaven.
-head shaving Wikipedia
Reading these passages only reinforces my resolve to my hair the length it currently is and grow it even longer if it can do so. I want to show the world that I am not controlled, brainwashed, or imprisoned physically or emotionally.
*Sorry another misprint!
Reading these passages only reinforces my resolve to *KEEP* my hair the length it currently is and grow it even longer if it can do so. I want to show the world that I am not controlled, brainwashed, or imprisoned physically or emotionally.
Just proves it's a free world and you know who you are and know what you want in life!
Cheers,
