What's Biotin, what does it do, what foods might have it, and can you get it in vitamin supplements? I read that it can help make your hair grow faster.
Personally, I take this along with a good B vitamin.
From Merek: Biotin functions as a coenzyme for carbon dioxide transfer and hence is essential to fat and carbohydrate metabolism. A specific enzyme links biotin to its apoenzymes.

From Medline: Biotin is found in various foods, including liver, cauliflower, salmon, carrots, bananas, soy flour, cereals, and yeast. Biotin content of food is reduced by cooking and preserving.
For oral dosage form (capsules or tablets):
To prevent deficiency, the amount taken by mouth is based on normal daily recommended intakes:
Adults and teenagers--30 to 100 micrograms (mcg) per day.
Children 7 to 10 years of age--30 mcg per day.
Children 4 to 6 years of age--25 mcg per day.
Children birth to 3 years of age--10 to 20 mcg per day.

From Medformation: Cheese, organ meats, and soy products are the best dietary sources for biotin. Other sources include eggs, nuts, broccoli, sweet potatoes and oatmeal.

Thanks for the information! You really helped me a lot.
Does Biotin make you go fat, as in overweight, if you take it? How much is fat and carbohydrate affected and in what direction? ie. does it make you fatter or thinner?
It speeds it up. So, should make you a tiny bit thinner. I may go back on it, since it did seem that my digestive system worked better. And, therefore, I wasn't carrying around as much weight.

Some people at http://the-light.com/archive/mens/messages/ tell rumors that BIOTIN both grows hair and reduces blood sugar!
And I believed that, but don't now. But, at the same time, it did make my gas production factory produce less. So, that'd be the only reason why I'd take it now. I definitely wouldn't bother with the high dosage levels that I had been taking before.
