Hi everyone, hope you are all well.
A few days ago I decided I want to see what my hair would look like without using any hair products at all. However, I have found this post that says I should clarify my hair before stopping shampoo use.

I don't want to buy a clarifying shampoo as I will only use it once. The above posts suggest using diluted apple cider vinegar. I have "pure white vinegar, 5% acetic acid" in my house for cooking, could I also use this? How much would I have to dilute it?
Alternatively, if anyone knows of any other natural clarifiers and how to use them, I would appreciate it!
Cheers,
Peter
Here is one I found useing google.
About half way down the page , here. http://motowngirl.com/content/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=10&Itemid=12
Hair Clarifier
* 2 cups warm water
* 1/2 cup lemon
Directions: Mix the ingredients together and pour over your head. Massage gently and let it sit for 10 mins. Rinse out, condition and style. Leaves the hair clean and smelling great! (This recipe won't work if you use a lot of oils and heavy styling products).

I have heard from multiple sources that lemon juice will lighten the colour of hair. I have black hair and want it to stay completely black, do you think lemon juice is a bad choice?
Cheers,
Peter
I really don't know. I've never tried this. Maybe someone else will chime in soon.
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I have black hair and I want it to stay completely black. I have read about lemon juice and vinegar lightening the colour of hair and I don't want to take any chances. Worst case, I'll have to go out and buy a clarifying shampoo.
Cheers,
Peter
