My useual routine includes about 1 shampoo a week and 3 or 4 conditioning sessions. My hair has bee pretty well manageable and looks pretty decent. so last week i forget to buy my gernier conditioner and run out. so yesterday morning I washed my hair without conditioning it. Hey it turned out great!! Shiny and silky smooth, Better than usual. Dog got into skunk. Gave him a soda bath. Took another shower and washed hair. This unheard of for me. Still no conditioner. Hair is better still. I just cant fathom it. Anybody else have a similar situation Or a guess as to why no conditioner seems to be working better?
Hi Quester,
For me using conditioner is more for making combing easier. On the occasion I didn't use any my hair was great also, getting it combed and neat was a bit of a chore. Conditioner is helpful but hair can look great without it, your an example of that.

Interesting. I was thinking of doing the same thing next I wash mine - leave out the conditioner, just to see what happens/doesn't happen.
Quester,
for me personally I wouldn't even dare try not using any conditioner. I've been taking care of my hair for too long to risk causing it harm or damaging it by not conditioning on purpose. Every time I wash my hair, it gets hardened and I wouldn't even think about combing it or touching it without using conditioner on my ends after my shampoo. Conditioner is like food for my pet hair, and I always make sure its well fed!
Back when I used shampoos and such I once went without conditioner and my hair looked better but got way to tangly!
Hi Q
Well my hair can be weird at times as I can do a certain routine and after awhile my hair stops responding and is hard to comb out.So them I would swap product, mainly conditioners, and that seemed to do the trick. However I do at times skip the conditioner and when I first start trying to comb out my hair and it glides right through I know not to bother with it then.So I guess what I'm saying is that at times I can skip it without problems.

Yep, that's it. I'm gonna watch it real close thogh.
What is your usual brand/formula of shampoo, and what for conditioner? What are the ingredients?
I ask because many conditioners contain things that will cause a build up that some shampoos, like moisturizing shampoos, may not completely remove with each washing.
Both are Garnier length and strength.
YES I've had that happen myself as I used to NEVER use conditioner. Unfortunately my hair is kind of fragile so I really need to condition it to make it flexible and manageable. If I dont, there's no way I can comb or brush it until it's dry, and by then, it's in need of some serious detangling.
