As my hair has become longer it is becoming more and more knotted and tangled after each ride on my motorbike. I pony tail it but I think it just spins around in the wind and is still really knotty.
What do you other bikers do with your long manes to limit the damage?
Thanks
~ Dave
Well either a bun under your lid mate or segmented pontail is best.
But as I'm still looking behind the fridge to find myself you may get different advice tomorrow!

Hi Dave... The best thing I've found is to segment my ponytail. For me, a total of 5 bands, the main band and 4 small ones works good. After the ride, I brush the end of the tail until there's no snarls, take off the first band, repeating the brushing, working my way to the main band. Total time to 'de-tangle' the tail... less than 5 minutes. Much better than â20 minutes with just the one band. Hope this helps!

Hey Fire, thanks for the reply, I wear a full face, although I am thinking about maybe a skull cap for the warmer weather if it ever arrives.

I switched to full face after I got the broken end of the choke lever stuck through my lower lip. It healed fine with one stitch, but I believe it is well worth always wearing a full face helmet.
Whenever I'm out riding and a stone, small or large, bounces off my helmet, I always tell myself that's why I ride with a full face helmet. One time I went down and the visor was scratched big time. Better that than my face...

There are various Hair Glove products out there that you can use.
Made in various materials it just wraps around your tail and hooks onto your band.
It's a while since I last had a bike, but my solution was to hold my ponytail inside my jacket with a scarf around my neck, wool in winter and (faux) silk in summer.
...however, I think if I get another bike I may try wearing a braid/plait/pigtail with the loose end folded over.
one of the best solutions is a braid, thats if you are willing to. Ill eventually own a bike pretty soon, and when my hair reaches around your length thats probly how ill wear it on my bike.
