My front bangs are too short to pull them with the rest of my hair into a ponytail? Im getting tired of comments at my workplace that im fixing my hair all the time (well, I do, since it gets in my eyes), and I want to kind of immobilize it. Ill post a pic later on, off to work now :/ The bangs are too short (missing ~1cm :S) to put behind the ears as well :( Help!
I'd hold it back with preferably bobby pins, but you could use gel also.
When I was growing out my hair, my hair often got into my eyes, so I used bobby pens. It helped me keep my hair out of my eyes, but it made wearing a hat difficult. My dad disagreed with me wearing bobby pins, not only because it can set off the security detector at the airport, but also because he thinks bobby pins are for women only. I suggest you wear bobby pens no matter what people think.
Regardless

Perhaps get selective ear-plugs for those that can't keep their mouths shut and mind their own business at work Simon.
In the meantime, they used to sell Bobby Pins with a hair pattern on them that when holding the hair in place were about impossible to detect. I hope these are still available to help the upcoming longhair. If not, just use run of the mill Bobby Pins just to help you through this stage. If someone says they are only for women, well tough on them. Many still think longhair is only for women. More fool them! You just can't win with these people so don't even try and bother.
Best of luck to you Simon. Just remember that this stage is soon to pass and you WILL get through it as every longhair has and have a super mane to show for it.

OK here is an option you may feel is worth trying. It is illegal in the US(is that where you are?) to harass another person in the workplace. It creates, in legal terms, a hostile environment. Warn the harassers to keep their opinions to themselves. If that doesn't work report them to the supervisor. I would read and have a copy of the law by this time in case he says something like he can't really help you. It is his legal responsibility to help you. If he wont, go to the state labor and industries board and the ACLU. You will find shortly that you will have a winning law suit to run with. The other solution is not caring what those jerks say. Ask them" why you so interested? Looking for a date? I'm not gay leave me alone."(I have no problem with gays by the way but most jerks will and then the tables are turned). Slick it back with gel for 6 months. The one thing you do NOT want to do if you want long hair is trim it!!! Be a bigger man than them and don't let social pressure deter you from your selected course.
I suggest for you to use gel, or just a cap or hat whenever possible.
Try to do a back combed pony tail, and make sure you comb your hair well, so that the bangs set in place with all the other hairs, using gel will make things a lot easier.
Other than that. There's not much you can do.
Just hang in there.
Thanks for the reply guys, I'll go buy bobby pins tomorrow :) I might try gel, but I dont think it`ll hold it that good, seeing as I bend over often (im a bartender btw) and move fast. I have a day off tomorrow so Ill be testing it out.
Await the results!
Oh, and if you have any other ideas, feel free to post :)
PS: Regarding the lawsuit...
1) it was the supervisor/manager and the other supervisor being nasty
2) Im from UK
I dont think it`ll go as far as taking them to the court, unless they keep on being persistent.. Either way, I dont care! I can only hope that they'll shut up :(
