That's interesting news indeed for our friends in Belgium.
Looks like they would rather buy a brewery company than mend the roads and the broken street lamps! Oh joy a lovely ride through there and warp around the Antwerp ring road two weeks from today on our way to Wacken!
Cheers,

LOL I find it amusing myself as I've never cared for Budweiser beer.
I recall a recent advertisement where they go on with great pride about how budweiser is an "American Beer" and "American Company"
Something like that. The intent was to stick it to Miller which is owned by the South Africans and based in London. (SAB Miller)
I imagine we shall not be seeing those ads anymore....LOL

Hm yea, our roads suck and yes, we do a lot for beer
How about cutting out Belgium altogether? You could take the ferry from Harwich to Esbjerg. It's an overnight job, leaving around 18:00 and arriving about 1300 (local time). OK, it's maybe not the most "metal" way to travel but it saves a lot of wear and tear on the car going round Antwerp. (And you can drink.) I've done the drive and taken the ferry before and comparing them, I'd take the ferry again any time and it works out about a similar price too - unless you blow all your cash in the casino.
Let's hope that it means that Stella is more widely available in the US, although you can already get it, but let's hope it is more often on tap beside domestic beers.
Anheuser Busch are not completely incapable of making good beer, but their policies only make sense in terms of pure greed. In their regular beers they have three grades:-
Economy, aka Busch - reasonable price, but tastes almost like you are drinking water;
Regular, aka Budweiser - still too weak in taste for any discerning palate, and overpriced to boot;
Premium, aka Michelob - good average beer at an even higher price!
IOW, whichever of their beers you choose you get a lot less barley and hops in it than you ought to for your money, and the difference is all profit for them. Perhaps this will change now???
OTOH, almost anything with any real flavour is considered to be 'premium' and sold at high prices in the US.
