Well - it's been a long 2 years. I've learned here how to tie a bun, wear a buff, and be proud of my "man locks".
Thanks to everyone in this group for their support in my earlier times and for their support of others who are starting out. I don't post very often any more as I've not had anything really much to say.

My co-workers both in the office and plant have also been accepting and one of them has even been growing his own hair out. Hopefully that's of some encouragement to those who worry about how long hair affects them in the workplace. And yes, I have a "professional" position. I just make sure that I'm well dressed and neat - especially the hair.
Thanks again everyone.
Great update, your hair looks really good.
It's amazing how much hair you can hide in a bun.
Thanks Vincent. The bun is my preferred look for when I'm encountering people professionally for the first time.

Greetings Andrew! A fine update indeed! Congrats on your perseverence...you hair looks really good. Woohoo!
Max
Looks great! I'm only five months behind you in growth.
My coworkers have also been very accepting. One of my female coworkers recently joked that my hair would soon be longer than hers.
I am also only five months behind from Andrew.

You've achieved a very nice head of hair in two years, Andrew, and the bun is particularly neat looking. You're right on about the teenagers, too. You're an embarrassment no matter what. ;-)

Your hair looks nice and healthy. Keep it growing.

Hi AndrewB, that's some good progress for 2 yrs. Say what program did you use to group your photos like that?
Frank
Frank - thank you for your kind comments. Even though it's a lot of progress - I must say that 2 years is an awful long time.
For the photos, I used the "Microsoft Image Composer" program that comes with some versions of office. I opened up the first picture, imported the other three, laid them out, saved the result, opened the combined file up again and reduced it's size to be friendly on everyone's screen, saved and uploaded.
AndrewB
Hi AndrewB, I use Openoffice, I can't afford MS Office, but I found a FREE Photo Editor called PhotoScape, I tried Combining 2 photos of myself and it works great.
Frank
Hi Andrew,
What a fabulous head of hair you are blessed with, and you have come such a long ways in onlt two years. One of these days, I need to learn how to do a bun, as well as a braid. Keep up he great growth, hopefully, to waist length or longer.
Keep it growing,
David
David:
Thank you for your kind comments as well as the encouragement you have given to me and countless others on the board.
Doing a bun is actually quite easy I believe. I found a video this past spring showing how to do a "librarian bun" but unfortunately can't seem to put my hands on it. Hopefully someone else who is better at instructions - and I know that several members do wear buns - can post some sort of "how to".

Hi Andrew,
What a fabulous mane for just two short years of growing it.I can imagine the jealousy from family or coworkers who wish they had the courage to do what you are doing.I really think there are more men than you might realize longing to grow their hair out but are intimidated by those around them that think men shouldn't have longhair.Hey if that were true then male hair would grow an inch and stop all by itself!Until that happens the floors the limit:)LOL
Mark
Mark - thank you for your kind comments. Yes, I have had men come up to me and congratulate me on my ponytail and express the wish that they had one too.

Good job on the two year mark and on the excellent bun-weaving skills.
I love the emerging Manlocks,
While your teenagers may be embarrassed by what you do, they are learning the important lesson of a man following his conviction. Good for you for teaching it to them without having to say a word.
Shawn (Mr.Crow)
Shawn - and thank you for coming up with the Manlocks term in the first place ....

Great progress Andrew and congratulations for keeping the faith. It was certainly worth it as it suits you very well, I too have three kids, but luckily they are young and still think their dad is cool with his long hair!!
Cheers Dave
