Hi guys. It was about time for me to post an update. I've been on the board for quite some time, but since I haven't posted lately at all and my last update was 2 years ago well, you know... I'm posting the update of what probably is about 43 months since I last cut my long hair back in 2005. I'm very happy with it and I hope it keeps growing since my new goal is growing to my waist. The pic of the front is at the end of the message.
Now onto the poll part. Back in 2003 I had my hair permanently starightened with Bio Ionic (I hated the curls) and I loved it. I didn't take care of it though and that partly helped towards my cutting it in 2005. Now I have learned to take care of my curls and really like them too. But I still love straight hair. In my photobucket I have updated pics of it curly and straightened. As well as some other pics from past years. My request is for you guys to tell me what you like best. The curls or the straight hair. I am thinking of straightening it again, maybe around winter or spring next year, but I'm trying to make up my mind.
I appreciate your feedback guys.
My hair's photobucket.
just to show the bulk and real length when dry.
Great progress and your hair is looking awesome :)
As for the poll, I personally think the curls suit you much more.
Keep it growing!
I just thought of a cool piece of alliteration: Curls of Courage. :P
Thank you derf, very nice words
Your hair has really beautiful curls. Sure, it takes longer to grow out curly hair, but then the curls adds to the character of one's hair.
My hair is wavy, but not as curly as yours.
I hope you post with us more often.

Yes that's a huge problem. it takes FOREVER to grow like I'd like.
I like the curly hair.
Hi Giacco
Your curls look fantastic so unless you really want the straight hair look or unless the curls are a lot more difficult to take care of, I say keep it curly. It will take longer for it to visibly reach your waistlength goal but wow, it sure will be awesome.
Joe
Thanks Joe. Yes it will be awesome, but maybe another 2 or 3 years for that? I have to admit though that the curls and the bulk are quite my hair's signature.
Hi Giacco,
Well I'm going to go with the rest of the guys and say keep your hair as it would grow naturally. So since that is curls then thats what you should keep as straightening your hair will only lead to more damage I would think.Don't get me wrong as the straight hair look is fantastic but so are your natural curls.
Mark
Thank you mark. You always have good advice for everyone. That's one thing that speaks greatly about you.
OMG! keep the curls definately they look great and natural too.
Hi Giacco,
What an awesome update, and you are blessed with the most incredibly think curls. My preference for you to be to embrace what you are born with naturally, your curly hair! Straightening hair can cause damage that you will regret later.
Keep it growing,
David
Thank you David. I probably will cause damage and force me to keep getting the procedure every 4- 6 months, too much if you ask me. Naturall is better but for us curlys the waiting can be too long sometimes.
I would say that you stick with what mother nature gave you, if you have to straighten your hair it will be damaged.
And your curls looks awesome to.
Thank you Vincent
Awesome hair man! keep it curly and natural for several reasons:
1) It's better for the health of your hair not to treat it with chemical straighteners.
2) The curly hair looks fantastic on you; it would look AMAZING if you grew it to lower back or belt length.
3) People would kill to have that hair texture; definatly keep it that way.
I also checked your photobucket with it straight, I think it looks good both ways but prefer it with your natural texture. Yuo have great hair Giacco.
-Phil
Thanks Phil. A lot of people would indeed kill for it. The time I had it straightened all the women in the salon thought I was crazy and said they wish they had that type of curl.
I think the curls are a more masculine look. Natural hair is also more masculine (IMO) than processed hair. Either way, it looks great, but I think the curls look better overall.
Thank you Jake. it looks like the results are unanimous.
You looked good with the straight hair and if that was its natural state you would be set. But I also like the curls, they make you unique even among the already unique set of longhairs, and it is less harsh on your hair to let it do its own thing. Go with the curls Giacco they are awesome!
Thank you Chris. I'm happy to see you back and I hope you keep getting better and better so you can go back to your old self as soon as possible.
