Well, I've always had this strange place on my head where it shows my skin most of the time. I'm pretty sure this is normal, but some of my friends have pointed it out to me so I'm not completely sure. Here's a picture of it, taken just a minute ago:

Looks fine to me. It is a bit big but unless it's expanding you don't have to worry about it at all.
It looks like the normal origin point of a cowlick or hair whorl. It probably stands out more because your hair is flat near the origin and has waves further out. Looks like nothing to worry about.

My hair acts exactly like yours when it is brushed out. It looks, to me, like it's just your hair's growth pattern. You have a classic whorl up there. If it's not getting larger, there is nothing to worry about. I have a similar effect on the top of my head, but now that my hair is longer I can override its tendency to fall forward in the front by brushing it back. Your hair looks great.
