Staring to get comments to cut it from my employer (who is also my dad). I know for sure that when this conversation arises i will stand my ground as i shaved it a year ago when it was about the same length and NEVER EVER will i make that mistake again. It felt very wrong like i had lost a part of me. Before i decided to first grow my hair two years ago in my last year of uni i had kept it at a number 1 for about 8 yrs. So i definatly had a steep learning curve! My hair care routine has come from a best mate who has helped me so much even though she herself says she prefers me with short hair (That does not stop her wanting to play with it tho!!!) Sorry i am getting carried away. I need a way of keeping it neat and 'professional' looking as i travel all over the world and many countries/companys (i am a 3rd party inspector) have varying takes on long hair any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ps: it just fits in a high ponytail.
Those sure are some impressive curls. I have no trouble believing it's difficult growing out, especially with your boss/father disapproving. Don't listen to what others say, your head shouldn't be mutilated for asthetical purposes (and almost always short hair looks worse LOL)
I await to see the poofy ball of curls your hair will become (it will look even more amazing once you can get it in a low tail).
Yeah, you can't cut hair like that. It's too cool and super curly to even think about having it short. I can see why when you last cut it it bothered you so.
Your curls are so awesome. You might want to try an alcohol-free gel or some leave in conditioner to keep your hair tamed down, though your pictures do not indicate that you have a very large problem with frizz. Longer hair can look extremely professional in combination with the right clothes (being a sharp dresser helps) and attitude. If you're OK with your hair, then others will be too. That is my experience. People can "smell" self-doubt. If you let your hair get a little longer too, that will make it easier to tie back, thus "neater" at times. Loose is good too when the wind isn't blowing too hard. Additionally, if you do your job well and give your dad nothing to complain about in that area, then he ought to accept that you can do your job well, with your locks intact.
Wow, I did not expect such a speedy reply. Thanks for the tip i have never used leave in conditioner and will give this a go as for the gel i really hate the crunchy result they usually give any ideas?? I do have issues with frizz ( as the blown dry afro shows lol( good for 70's nights tho!!)for which i use john freida serum and dream curls spray. I am sure i can bring my dad round as back in the day before he went bald he was a biker with long hair, so partly its jealousy =)
It is interesting that you have very curly hair. It is true that it takes longer to grow out curly hair and it it is going to grow outward somewhat, but when it gets long enough, it will grow downward. Your hair looks great. To compare, I have wavy hair, which falls between straight hair and your hair. When you put your hair in a complete ponytail, it will look nice no matter what. Curls add character to one's hair. By the way, check out MySpace.

Hi, great hair! the curls are wonderful. My hair is very similar in texture although the gray is creeping in. Stick to your guns and let it grow.
