Apparently some talk show is seeking guests who think that boys with long hair look like girls.
Even though they are seeking guests on both sides, the tone carries a very negative attitude about it :/

Little boys with long hair do tend to look like girls. Just like girls with really short hair look like boys. Before puberty, hair and earrings a lot of time is all that separates the genders. That being said, if I have a son, I'll probably make him have long hair when he's little. Haha.
Yes... for the matter
I love long hair... To me, it's just right. My son would have long hair, but not longer than shoulder lenght or so, ar least enough to put in a ponytail. I wouldn't want my son to be made fun of at school tough. Altough those kinds of things can make a person grow very fast as a fair social being, it's really harsh.
On the other hand, I like androginous look on boys, guys and man. My main action in fashion touards man clothing is to make it more feminine. It's just like long hair, think about it... Women own everything: trousers, short hair, smokings, suits, ties... And it's great? Why can't we own rufles, long hair, flower patterns, sequins, transparent fluid fabrics, and even skirts?
There =P It's all about taste. Hair is just hair, it simply doesn't define if you're a man or a women, and clothes can't do it either. To know if you're a man or a women, just look between your legs.
Couldn't agree with you more.
Doesn't matter what I want, you want or anyone else wants. What does the little boy want??
Yup, totally agreed =)
My son had long hair until he was 8, then went spiky, then grew it back out when he was 12. He's now 15. None of this was any problem. Even small children have recognisably male or female features IMHO, except for people who can't be bothered to really look at them.
This is all about celebrity actresses and female singers with long haired sons. Several of the more brainless members of soceity have said their sons look like girls, and to the TV show people this sounds like a controversy that will get them viewers, but it's all just BS.
OTOH, these celebrities have let their sons' hair grow out because they personally think they look cute, not because the father has long hair, but the father may be an actor who would like long hair but can't have it because they have to cut their hair to get parts. Even so, if their sons like it, and apparently they do, then there's no problem, unless you're a bigotted a***hole!
I agree with you, but I'm curious, what examples of this do we have anyway? The only female singer with a long haired son I honestly know of is Celine Dion's son Rene-Charles.
Can anyone actually list other examples? Not saying there aren't others, of course, I just can't think of any others off hand.

There's Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson's son, Ryder, and Cindy Crawford's son, Presley. Also the sons of Julia Roberts and Elle MacPherson.
If I wasn't stuck permanently with dial-up I could probably find more.
Esther & Abi Ofarim have a son (Gil Ofarim) who had very long hair since he was a kid. Now I think he cut it back to shoulder length...
In my neighbourhood there is a boy of about 10 yrs. with midback blonde dreads, he seems to be very well accepted by his friends and does not look girlish at all.

Well, I don't watch TV anymore. I prefer to use the internet when I'm not doing more productive things with my life. ;)
That said, I think long hair looks great on boys, teens, and men. I am obviously biased, though. lol! I don't think it makes males look like females, though on small children I sometimes have to do a double take and look a little more closely. Most people dress their boys like boys and girls like girls, so I simply don't see the problem.
When I think "long" hair nowadays, I don't consider anything less than shoulder length all that long. On the other hand, I personally know people who think that their son has "long" hair when it starts getting over the ears. So, it's a pretty subjective adjective.
What a boy does with his hair ideally should be his own choice. Realistically, it most often comes down to what his parents or grandparents want it to be. Growing up I missed out on having long hair due to family religious beliefs, so at times I feel a tinge of jealousy when I see a kid with hair flowing down his back.
