Hey everybody... been a while since my 15 month update so I think it's time for the 16 month mark!
Not much has happened except for a few things...
I'm almost completely fully able to tie my hair in a full tail, just a few hairs at the top that won't stay in place unless my hair is a bit oily... but I suspect that by September I can tie it completely! (my goal was October)
Also since I discovered I could tie most of it back now, when I untie it my hair is a lot more calm and relaxed than it was when putting it behind my ears (yay no more crazy flips!)
Other than that I try not to tie it up like that much until It's long enough - 'cause it has to be quite tight to work.
So in the last month my hair has grown about an inch! it's not an inch below my chin! w00t!

It really is amazing what happens to the longhair when they reach the point that you have come to. One additional inch DOES do wonders! I am happy that all is progressing so well for you and your progress is nothing short of sensational. Hang in there. All of your goals WILL be reached!

Can't wait 'till it's shoulder length!
Your "wait" is not really all that much longer. I would think another 3" would do it easily. Funny thing about hair when it gets to be shoulder length. At that point many guys suddenly think that their hair is no longer growing......but the shoulders barrior, lightness of hair weight at that point and not enough gravity seem to hold the hair to the person in one place. And suddenly after months and months, almost without warning the hair drops, gravity has won-out almost overnight and it seems like your hair is suddenly longer than ever. You'll be there a year from now easy and after that all is free-sailing.

Hi Alan.Its great to see you back again and I'm happy that your hair has gotten to the point that you can put it in a decent tail.Now thats quite an accomplishment and an indication that the awkward stage is nearing an end.You definately look great wearing your hair long as it will only get better from this point further.In particular I like this pic that you posted.Have a great weekend my friend.

Congratulations on getting most of those hairs into a tail. Soon those strays will fall into line and you'll be able to tie a tail more loosely. Strangely once that happens, you'll want to have the freedom to wear your hair loose. Go figure!

Great progress and you have reached a cool length for sure. It's so nice to have the option of tying it back. That will get easier as the length increases, and you will be able to tie it more loosely.

Awesome hair man,you seem to be at the point that a tail would do wonders.Since my hair's texture is kinda like yours,I would recommend you did a half tail when your hair is almost wet after a shower,as it controls frizz,straightens out your hair and if you're lucky it may even detangle some split ends;it worked well for me so far.Peace and happy growing :).
Excellent update Alan, your hair looks longer for sure. You have excellent layers, I'm guessing you grew it out from a buzz? In any case it looks great, keep it up!
