Hey Guys i stubled on to this and i think this is a really neat board...
Anywho, i am the only one i know growing my hair out and i am beging to be a little worried about how much hair i find in the shower drain everyday. I have read that 50-100 hairs a day is normal but i still am worried. I dont have any bald spots or things like that. I am 21 and i figured maybe you hair jsut thins a bit when you get older. I still find hair everywhere and everytime i run my fingers through it a few strand come out. I know its starting to be fall and more falls out then and maybe its jsut the shedding phase of my hair but you guy know what its liek to start finding hair everywhere.
I guess my ultimate question is (and to preface my hair is 6-8" long everywhere and has been growing for about 15 months)how much hair do you guys pull out of the shower every day? My girlfriends hair is much thicker and a bit longer and we find more of my hair than hers when we clean it out.
First off, welcome to the site! Secondly, don't worry about it. The only reason you're noticing it now is because your hair is longer, which is absolutely normal. Just remember to clean your drain and save yourself a headache of a plumbing bill. =)

Hello Mike,
My hair is around about 6-7 inches long but v curly. So my hair does not really fall out during the day like straight hair would and so i have had many a shock in the shower after a festival or few days of not washing my hair. But as other people have said not an issue, but the first few times are definatly worrying!!!
I also stumbled onto this board and am happy I found it... I love that more men are wanting to grow out their hair. Long, healthy hair is so sexy.
As to your question, yes, because your hair is longer, you will notice it more in the drain. But, I think shedding also has to do with your body, health, hormones, stress, nutrition, exercise, and possibly heat (think summer).
Hair is a reflection of your body's health. I have noticed in my life that I shed more at times than others. It is true. Also, do you exercise, take a multi-vitamin and omega 3 fish oil caps, get enough sleep, eat your fruits, veggies, and nuts, find ways to de-stress, stop smoking, and limit alcohol to one serving a day. If you do this already, the best thing you can do is not worry about it. It should resolve itself.
Hope this helps a bit.
