Anyone else here listetning to Nightwish? I've actually become quite a huge fan of them lately, but somehow i think their music isn't quite the same now that Tarja left the band, of course Anette's a good singer as well but the music doesn't sound as powerful anymore.
All of the band members has awesome hair as well:D
YES! Great band, Tarja is beautiful and the bassist has awesome hair and a strange but cool goatee also. If you like them, check out Epica too, great hair in that band as well.

Nightwish and Epica are without a doubt my two favorite bands in that genre. :)

No prob Bruce, Epica is one of my top 10 all time favs; the singer is GORGEOUS too, as well as having one of the best voices I've heard. Norseman suggested some EXCELLENT similar bands as well, Stream of Passion is definatly worth checking out.

I like them, though I don't know them that well since I don't have any CDs by them. Tarja had a great voice, and I like Anette's too despite the big vocal change.
I've got: Once, Wishmaster, Over the Hills and Faraway, and of course Dark Passion Play.
Awesome band, definitely one of my favorites. It sucks that Tarja left and I almost threw a fit when I heard Anettes voice, but I think it's just as good now. Now I don't see what the big deal is, new Nightwish isn't any different to me.

I think I'm the biggest fan of them here :].
I wake up to them, go to sleep to them, listen to them for most of the day.
I also have all of their albums, several posters, and 5 or 6 t-shirts.
And Marco has and epic mane. Same with emppu, because of the blondness.
Excellent group, I love that style of music. Another group that I've heard lately is SymphonyX. You should give them a listen.

Symphony X's "The Odyssey" is one of my favourite metal albums. It's got some of the best riffs ever!
YEA! Symphony X is KILLER. They have one of the fastest and most precise guitar players in metal. I was fortunate enough to see them with Epica and Into Eternity a few months back, awesome bands.

You would have loved it Brian, they all put on a great show. Unfortunatly Simone Simons (Epica) was not on that tour but they had a stand in singer (Amanda Somerville) who sang wonderfully. Symphony X and Into Eternity play all the time tso I'm sure you can catch them soon. I actually got to hang out and chat with with Stu Block (Into Eternity), he was awesome and we got to talk for a long while. Good to hear that other people on this board have awesome taste.

I'm not really the biggest fan of Nightwish but like you say since their last singer left a lot of people have told me that they have changed a bit. Most of them say that they just aren't quite they same anymore.
I watched them live once with their first singer and they were pretty epic!

I like some of their stuff but most of their songs sound too similar for me. I actually bought their live DVD a few years back on a whim and was quite impressed with their musicianship though.

It's very hard to remember which song is which on Wishmaster, because they're all the same lol.
As for the new Nightwish album, one of the reasons I like the new Nightwish is although they sound a lot different with Annette, all the songs are unique.
Hi Simon, yes I love them. Tarja is amazing and her solo album is worth checking out too.
