I was wondering if they do.
If I were a firefighter I'd tie my hair in a bun
As a past career fire fighter I can tell you that most full-time paid departments have some type of grooming requirements esp. with facial hair ( because of safety issue with face mask sealing). Many still have a hair length requirement for men, however with more and more women in the service, many of the standards have been relaxed or eliminated. Volunteer dapartments tend to be even more liberal with a grooming code. So I guess the best answer is to check with the departments on an individual basis
Your answer was right on the money SteveP. We have a paid department that covers the city limits and a volunteer department that covers the whole county minus the city limits. They do have a grooming code at the paid department. I am glad I am just a volunteer!!!
