I started shaving last year, as i had wispy hairs and the like, which now are progressing more than i would like.
I've taken to tucking my bangs behind my ears, which leaves them exposed, I dont suit the look much, but it makes things easier.
But there is this weird hair that i dont remember being there before, and i wondered whether it was normal when hair gets longer, or whether its part of facial growth, and what i should do with it as well..
Thanks in advance.
I also came back from a holiday in Turkey just today, and i like the blonde streaks it has given me, though they are fading fast in the all too familliar english weather all ready.
I'll leave the facial hair question for the guys...I have no experience with that issue. ;-)
However, your hair is really getting some length to it, and it looks fantastic! Keep it growing!

Hi Beanz,
Great update picture there and you hair is coming along very well and seems to have grown alot and looks in amazing condition. I hope you had a good holiday.
I'm just trying to think back to when I started shaving and the sideburn hair. They say the more you shave it the courser it gets. From the picture I would say just leave that hair to grow. You will always get shorter hairs like that and I know some people go regularly trim them but it's never bothered me. Perhaps there will be some other advice knowing our varied community as we do.
Cheers,

I can't really remember being your age that well, but it looks like your sideburns are just developing nicely. Either let them grow as they are, or shape them by shaving below where they thin out. Either way, I think it's just a part of getting older, getting a beard and the like.
AND, please post some pictures of Turkey and tell us all about it. Where you went, what did you see, was the food good, etc. etc.

Your hair is looking GREAT Beanz!!! Keep it growing!!
As the others have said, its just the start of your sideburns coming in. When mine first came in I just shaved about halfway down my ear and let the rest grow out. Be careful if you're going to shave it off though, it can be hard to tell where the facial hair ends and the hair on your head starts sometimes. If you go too high your going to have little "wings" growing back, really annoying and noticable if you ponytail it or tuck it behind your ears.
I first want to say that you've made great progress, being able to tuck your hair is very easy I can do it since one month and it makes the akward stage very easy.
About shaving, when I first started shaving I didn't have long hair so I shaved everything of.
But with longhair you've got to be carefull not to shave the start of your normal hair. Right now I start shaving from the half of my ear and leave the rest.
The fine hairs are because you're still young and have yet to develop into coarser, thicker hairs.
However I'm a bit worried seeing that irritation mark on your nose.. Do you wear glasses? I get this problem a lot with my glasses... try cleaning the nose-pads every so often as those can start irritating the upper nose quite a lot when dirty. Hope that helps. As for the facial hair, don't worry, I had exactly the same until I hit 16.

Glad to see you back Beanz. For me - it was over 30 years ago that I was in the same boat (13/14) and my own son is there now. I had some fun with the different looks as like with everyone, my beard came in patchy and not at all where I expected it. There was a time I sported big "muttonchops" (about all I could grow) and weirdly I had a thick beard on my neck but not on my chin. I grow it out each year as the seasons change into fall and then cut it off in the spring.
One thing that's always been a challenge is to keep my sideburns even. What I do now, is when they're getting away from me, I trim them back to the bottom of the arms of my glasses. Only 2 more weeks of that though and the beard returns.
About the marks on my nose, they are something I have had on and off my whole life. Acne rosatia or something like that.
Not much i can do about that i am afriad.
