I'm starting to get my first few 'long hair' remarks from people I know. No one's been too critical or anything. It's been generally positive. Someone even told me I should move to California as I've got the whole "long hair thing going on"...ha. It didn't really make much sense, as my bangs only hang down to my upper cheeks, but it still felt pretty good. Definitely a motivator to keep growing through this unbelievably awkward phase!

Hey Eric
That is for sure a milestone - not so tiny, I think. I remember when I first got those remarks, I was pretty happy about it. Now you know your hair is truly getting longer because people are taking notice. Keep it growing and take care, Eric.

Ahh, the comments. I remember I spend my 6th/7th grade summer in seclusion (with no haircuts of course), and when I came back I started getting comments. It was...a nightmare. For a while I embraced any comment, and by the end even someone saying something about my, "crazy long hair" I'd get a bit angry. Hopefully all your comments are positive though.
Yes, it's very cool getting the first remarks about long hair. It shows that the people around you start recognizing you as a longhair.
You will feel even better when girls around you start begging if they could do one of these very tiny braids with your hair...
Keep growing!
