Hi Guys
It is so hard to believe that at 1:10AM on 8-29-48 that I "Crash Landed" to this planet landing in Hartford CT. So, as you can see by the photo above, I just HAD to do something special for the big Six-O. And of course just being myself, did my own thing.
Oh, how "precious" I look, (ie: yours truly) with my special imported "pink" Birthday Cake Hat to hold my hair in place. And my lovely gifts from loved ones has left me absolutely speechless! Just LOVE that "Teddybear" and "Bunny Rabbit." And to think, the fabulous Toy Store of the area, "Goo-Goos" allowed me a day long "free pass" to play in their special "Goo-Goo Kiddy-Land Park." FUN!!!!!!!! :-) What more could one wish for as they welcome in the sixth decade of their life? (On a sad note however, some dirty-rotten little BRAT STOLE my Stuffed Bunny Rabbit shortly after this photo was taken!) But, because I'm so "nice," I now offer a reward of .25 to ANYBODY who can find this kid......dead or alive! :-0
And now to be serious for a moment. (Hmmmm, is that even possible for myself?) LOL :-)
Having lived as long as I have has taught me many things, and the only way to have learned what I have has been to have lived as long in life as I have been granted so far. Life is short and without prediction. Make the most of it guys. Always be true to yourself and don't live your life to please others that will never be pleased anyway. Express yourself as you yourself wish. Enjoy laughter, for it is far more fun to laugh than to cry. Extend a helping hand to one in need. Lighten-up. (We are only here for a short time.) Do not fear death. Start to enjoy the little things right under your feet. Suddenly notice the beautiful little flowers growing in the lawn. The wonderful aroma of the earth when rain first falls. Of that special Sunset. (The list is endless.) Worship not the "Chairman of the Board." Make the grass green on YOUR side of the fence. Learn to accept and be satisfied with what you have.
And most important, always remain a child at heart and do not grow-up to be just another "clone." For to do so only deprives one of life, much happiness, and you will age faster. Stay young within and do not try to imitate how one is "suppose to act" at a certain age. (Whatever that means.) Our days are like an evening shadow and will wither-away for us all. Is it not better to live a free and loving life than be caught-up in the mess of the so-called "normal people" of society? Learn to let go and be able to laugh at yourself. It really IS fun you know. And always remember, to put a smile on your face is so much easier than to frown.
And now as I begin my sixth decade on this planet, I have never felt more happy nor cheerful than ever before. And of my Birthday wish to all of you great guys? Happiness and peace within you forever.
Blessings to one and all-
Justin~
Ps: Oh yes, to get back to an earlier statement: Don't I look just so "precious" above? :-)
Happy birthday Justin!
Your hair is doing great as always, and thanks a lot for the great advice :)
P.S. Love the hat :D
Hey "derf26"
So glad that you could appreciate that lovely pink birthday hat. Best hat I ever owned! LOL
Thanks for your words and my best to you in your own great long hair growth.
Take care-
Justin~
60??? I'da never guessed. Your beard is less grey than mine is at 40. You totally won the hair lottery. Congratulations.
You'ed never guess? Me either. Just don't know where the time went. And now for the "confessional" of the day. My hair is dark, but there is quite alot of salt in in. Why it doesn't seem to show-up is a mystery even to myself. The beard on the other hand would be much more white in "patches" so I CHEAT and colour it to match my hair. Glad I won the Lottery. How much is left after the IRS gets their cut. A penny? LOL :-)
Happy birthday, Justin! Thank you for sharing this wonderful day of happiness with us. Never change your ways man, You sure are one of a kind! :-)
Have a good one
Chris
Thanks so much Chris and always an honour to hear from you! :-)
Yes, I have always been one of a kind and people just don't know what to do with me. But they wouldn't change my outlook anyway. Thanks so much for the birthday wishes. Take care and until later...........
Justin~ :-)
Hi Justin,
I would like to wish you a VERY Happy Birthday, and here's to many, many, more! You will always be a "kid at heart", and that is the best way to stay eternally young, and you hardly look a day over 30. 60 years old? No way! As Steve has already said, you have "won the hair lottery", in spades!
Thank you for being such a wonderful friend, and I would like to propose a toast to lots of good health and happiness in the future.
Happy Birthday!
David
Hey David
As always, your remarks are so kind and ever so much appreciated as they come for the heart. Thank you for the compliments and a special thank you for being the very extra special person that you are.
Take care always and forever.
Thanks so much for your friendship which means so much to me.
Justin~
Found you rabbit thief !! HA!
I never placed you anywhere near 60....but you sure have the right attitude......Enjoy the day and the decade.
And thanks for all the great advise !!
Walter
Ah-HA! So THAT'S the thief! Good for you Walter in tracking this most wretched person down who stole my Bunny Rabbit. Why the nerve of her. Her mother should give her a SLAP! And, I should stuff her into a Venus Flytrap! LOL :-)
Justin~
-----------------------------------------
Your mane is absolutely phenenominal at 60. 60??? It is hard to believe. You are truely exceptional to have such fantastic hair. Very few men at any age have such a nice mane as yours, Justin. God surely blessed you with an extra portion when it came to gorgeous hair.
How true it is that we are only here for a short time. The song "Oh Very Young" by Cat Stevens seems to be sticking in my head right now.
from "Buddha And The Chocolate Box" 1974
How true these words are:
Oh very young
What will you leave us this time
Youre only dancing on this earth for a short while
And though your dreams may toss and turn you now
They will vanish away like your daddys best jeans
Denim blue fading up to the sky
And though you want them to last forever
You know they never will
You know they never will
And the patches make the goodbye harder still
Oh very young
What will you leave us this time
Therell never be a better chance to change your mind
And if you want this world to see a better day
Will you carry the words of love with you
Will you ride the great white bird into heaven
And though you want to last forever
You know you never will
You know you never will
And the goodbye makes the journey harder still
Oh very young
What will you leave us this time
Youre only dancing on this earth for a short while
Oh very young
What will you leave us this time
A very special birthday to a very special person who can still see life with childlike wonder. Blessings and hugs.
Scott
Wow Scott!
I NEVER in a million years expected anything the likes of your posting. You were just so kind in doing so and the song and the words are just BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Scott for sharing this with me as well as others who may have read your posts. Truly inspirational. And Scott, thank you for all of your contributions through the years as well as just being yourself. You have helped so many.
Wishing you a great weekend and hope your hair problem has been solved.
My best to you-
Justin~
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUSTIN!!!!!
I know after you reach a certain age you tend to not really want to make birthdays a big deal but at 60 you have much to celebrate. Most important being you are still alive and in good health but the real bonus is being in great physical shape still and that awesome mane you have:)Who cares that you are 60 as its only a number anyway.I know people who are much younger and look beat up for their age due to too much stress in their lives.Hey not me as I try not to get all worked up over things as that solves nothing anyway.
So do you have any special plans to celebrate today?Looks like from you photo you already had the main party taken care of:)Hope the cake tasted great and that no one got that pie in the eye.LOL.
Anyway I'm happy that when your big day arrived that you took it in stride.Hopefully when I reach 60 that I look as fantastic as you right now. Thanks so much for sharing your Birthday with the hyperboard as we are all pulling for you man:)Take care my good friend and stay well.Catch you later...
Mark
Hi Mark
As always, hearing from you has touched my heart deeply. Thank you for all you have said. You are such a fine person. As far as yesterday, I spent the day enjoying my Birthday at the beach which is gorgeous beyond belief.
Take care my friend and may you have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend.
Justin~
Happy Birthday Justin!!! YOU'RE 60!!!!?!?!? holy crap! you look phenominal for your age man! Awesome photo too hahaha.
-Phil
Hey Phil
I really don't know how I did it, but can only venture a guess that to stay young begins with always remaining young at heart and NOT listening to what everyone else says that you are suppose to be like. Glad I was never swayed nor got caught in that trap.
Thanks alot! :-)
Justin~
You're quite welcome Justin, sounds like I'm on the right track then, based on what you said. Hope I look half as good as you do when I'm 60! Enjoy the holiday weekend Justin.
-Phil
Congratz on your birthday Justin, your are blessed with amazing hair for your age.
Thanks Vincent and yes, I AM blessed at my age in having the hair that I have and it is continuing to grow longer.......the longest I have ever let it become in my entire life. Take care-
Justin~
Hi Vincent
Yes, I am truly lucky at my age to have hair doing as well as this..........and I am WELL aware of it. Might as well enjoy it rather than get a "Bankers Haircut" or shorter when reaching this milestone. God........wouldn't that be awful! :-0
Take care and many thanks-
Justin~
I have never seen that sentiment so beautifully expressed. Justin is wise beyond his years, and now we all know he's got lots of years!
Welcome to the golden years! I, too, am happier than I have ever been, as I approach my 62nd birthday in November. Oh, and Justin, you are not beginning your sixth decade on this planet, you have just finished it. You are beginning your seventh!
Bill
Hey Bill
Thanks for this very wonderful comment. But speaking of lots of years, the guys here don't know the 1/2 of it. I was born on a "Leapyear!" LOL :-)
Surely if anybody would understand, it would be you Bill as you come from the same time-frame of history. But yikes! The "Seventh" decade? Not quite sure I'm ready for that one yet. :-0
Take care and best wishes to you in having a great Labor Day Weekend.
Justin~
Wow, you don't look anywhere NEAR 60. o-o;;
Congratulations.
Thanks and I really don't feel a day over 21. (But I do get a bit more tired easier.........just don't tell anybody. ) LOL
Justin~
hey Justin great picture i must say sir! and wonderful picture that hair is beaufiul and long what a mane! hope all is well friend and happy birthday! :)
Hi "MarkS"
Thanks and I am so glad that you liked my most adorable photo. Take care and best of luck to you as you continue to grow your own long hair longer.
Justin~
Happy Birthday, Justin! It really is hard to beleive that you are turning the big 6-0, but I guess it's true. You have some good genetics going on indeed, musical talent, a green thumb, good hair with no grey, etc. The teddy bear and the little rabbit complete the day certainly. You certainly have a great outlook on things, and here is to many more happy years! Skaal!
Matt B.
Hey Matt
Yes, it really is about impossible to believe that I have made it here and it is if it took no time at all. Thanks for all of your special kind comments and hope you have a fabulous weekend Matt.
Take care-
Justin~
Justin, Congratulations on the Big Six-0.
Looks like you are having a great time!
Enjoy, and many happy years to come.
peace, jonalbear
Thanks so very much jonalbear, and yes, yesterday was a wonderful day for sure down at the beautiful coast. Nothing like that fresh sea air.
Justin~
The wisest words I've read in a long time.
Have fun Justin and yes you look just so precious. LOL
Kevin
Hi Kevin
So glad you liked the little blurb I wrote that was serious for a change. (Perhaps I was an Owl in another life?) No, impossible as I would have been an "Unwise Old Owl." But of myself looking "precious," yes, so true. Just love that pink hat and sooooooooo many here in town have made comments. But can you believe.........some kid was so JEALOUS he tried to knock it off my head with a tomato. I just KNOW he must have wanted it. :-)
Hope you have a great weekend Kevin.
Justin~
...Can't be Six-O, pick another number, go ahead, it's your birthday. let's say..... Four-O. Yes that seems closer to what I see.
Well Six-O, Four-O or Two-O, you look good at any age.
Happy Birthday, and thanks for the profound thoughts.
Bruce
Hey Scooper
Yes! A typo for sure, and if ONLY in the direction of which you have spoken. Actually, (but don't tell anybody) I should have hit a 9 instead. Oh well, the 6 is just an inversion and guess I'll just let it go at that. Afterall, I am well known for typos. LOL :-)
Take Care-
Justin~
Hi Justin,
I want to wish you the most grand birthday today, 60 is a huge acheivement, I think. Today is your day! Have fun and enjoy life. Happy birthday!!! Take care -
Hegg
Hey Hegg
You are much too kind and I so appreciate your well wishes. Thanks ever so much. And as far as your own long hair? Fabulous beyond a shadow of a doubt. You WILL make it to butt length for sure! :-)
All the best-
Justin~
Such a lovely picture and do enjoy a very precious day!
Wow I hope I look good when I reach 21!
Cheers,
John.B

Hello Justin,
You look so younger than 60 !
Happy Birthday !
Vivien
Hi Vivien
Actually I don't feel 60 at all. As far as looking the age, I really wouldn't know as I am scared to death of gazing into the looking-glass............and it might break! LOL :-)
Thanks and take care-
Justin~
Congratulations, Justin, on reaching 60 years and living for 15 Olympiads. You look a lot younger in the picture. When I turn sixty, I would not be interested at all in Goo-goos or kid stuff. I would still be tracking the weather in cities. I hope to have good hair at this age. I do not want to look like my grandpa. Nevertheless, what you are saying tis that enjoy the days if it is the last. I do fear death because I do not know what will happen afterwards. You said that you are beginning your sixth decade when you are really starting your seventh. Now, let's see if you can reach your 80th birthday, and then your 100th birthday.
Anyway, happy birthday Justin.
Regardless
My MySpace
Thanks Regardless
But really, you would never know what you are missing in letting Goo-Goo's Playland escape you. So much fun! :-) Take care and have a nice weekend. :-)
Justin~
Hi Justin!
Have a great 60th birthday. I'd never have guessed you were 60 you know : P You don't look a day over 45!
Take care and have fun.
Neil
Hey Neil-
Thanks so much for the compliment. 45 seems but only a few days ago. Wishing you well Neil as always, and hope that you are feeling better than ever now and perhaps on a medication that will really help.
Take care-
Justin~
Yes, You look Precious!!
Lol!
Happy Birthday Justin, and Like everyone else has said---you don't EVEN look 60!
Looking Fabulous!
Enjoy such a great milestone in life!
Take Care-
Peace-
Ddude
Thanks Dddude. Actually I thought quite adorable for sure. LOL
hehehe........that mask I bought really works, i,i,i mean.......Hmmmmmm, guess I don't even know what I mean. Oh the challenge of these "Golden Years." Perhaps I should hide beneath the "Golden Arches" of McDonalds to retain youth?
Justin~
Happy, Happy Birthday...but...where's the grey hair?
The grey IS there but for reasons unknown to myself doesn't seem to show-up hardly at all. Probably will any one of these days and I will then be known as the "Old Gray Mare!" YIKES!!!!!!!
Justin~
Great advice, Justin, and a marvelous picture. You have a LOT of character!
Happy Birthday!
Mouse
Thanks Mouse, and as far as the "Character." I am truly a study in one that is a REAL Character. I dare say off the charts! LOL :-)
Take care-
Justin~
Greetings Justin and happy b'day to you!!! Loved that pic of you and your heartfelt message...rules I wished everyone lived by. Perfectly stated.
Hope you have a wonderful day!!!
Cheers and hugs,
Max
Thanks ever so much Max and glad you enjoyed the little message I suddenly decided to include with the posting. Hope you are having a nice day today Max and that your hair is continuing to grow as great as it has been. My best to you-
Justin~
Hey Justin. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I can't believe that you are sixty years old. You look fantastic. When my father was sixty, he sure didn't look like you. I guess sixty is the new forty. LOL. Your hair is great, you look great and you seem extremely happy. What more can you ask for? Have a great day and don't forget to play "Happy Birthday" for yourself on the piano. I'll play a verse for you here in NJ, but you probably won't hear me.
Del
Hey del-
YOU can't believe I am 60? Neither can I! Just don't know how the time has escaped so fast, and with each passing year it tripples in speed. As for playing "Happy Birthday" on the Piano, would you believe that I never have learned this piece? Thanks for playing the verse for me. My best to you del and hope your own long hair is still doing as fabulous as it has been.
Justin~
Happy 60th Justin! Your hair is looking great too!
Thanks so much and speaking of hair..........your own is looking superb+!!!!! :-)
Justin~
Wait a minute, youre 60 years old? Wow I wouldve thought you were like 39 or something!
Anyway, you were obviously blessed with great genes and a killer mane to boot. Hope you are well and happy birthday!
Thank you so much DiO. Actually, I really feel younger than 39 but yikes! Whatever the "facade" may be may crumble at any minute. But even that's ok. The main thing is just roll with the punches.
Best of wishes to you DiO in the growing out of your own hair. It is looking fantastic.
Justin~
Justin, that was a beautiful and inspiring post. I surely aim to have the same kind of outlook as you for the rest of my years.
By the way, I hope nobody threw cake in your face this year. That little brat is still at large, eh? :) Happy birthday!
Peace,
Ryan
Hi RyanK
Many thanks for posting to my "Birthday Posting." Glad you enjoyed it as well as comments touching-on the really important things in life.
best-
Justin~
Welcome to you second childhood, Justin! LOL!
What's it coming to when someone kidnaps the birthday boy's bunny? Disgraceful!
Hey elektros-
"SECOND CHILDHOOD?" No way!!!! I shall never get out of my 1st! Much to nice to stay this way.
Cheers!
Justin~
Justin, the years have certainly been kind to you. You seem to grow younger in each photo.
I hope you had a wonderful birthday and I wish you many, many more.
jeffrey
Hey Jeffrey
Great seeing you here and hope all has been well with you. Thanks for the birthday wish and yes, the day was wonderful and spent at the beach where I never ceaase to marvel at the beauty of the Oregon Coastline.
Take Care-
Justin~
Well, I'm a bit late, but "Happy Birthday" anyway :D
Hardly too late. Because I was away yesterday I am just catching-up in responding to all of you great guys and of your thoughtful and kind wishes. Thanks ever so much. :-)
Justin~
Happy belated birthday Justin, sorry I'm late to the party but I've been away.
60? no way!! I hope I look even half as sprightly as you when I reach that age.
Take care and may there be many, many more healthy and happy years for you.
Regards, Dave
Hi Justin and Happy Birthday. Hope you enjoyed it.
TLH
Your birthday message below is wonderful, thought-provoking and true. And I would have expected nothing less than that from you.
It is YOUR birthday gift to us!
I believe the Secret to your looking years younger than your age is that you never allowed yourself become jaded.

And most important, always remain a child at heart and do not
