Hey all,
Hope everybody is doing fine.
Took a few pictures the other day and thought I would post them. Nothing too special, some days I am more long hair aware than others as in noticing the longhairs around me and on my better days being jealous! For me that's progress. :)
Last weekend I even had a dream where I had longhair again and it was cool and I was bummed when I woke up and it wasn't real :( Another hopeful sign? This second trip is stranger than the first when I was gung-ho the whole way.
Well here are the pics, now I better get busy and catch up on all the posts I have missed lately!
Not much but here it is LOL
Hey Chris how the heck are you!!!So what do you mean that this pic is "not much" as its quite an awesome look you've got going there:)I know you had a fantastic mane before you decided to cut your hair but this second "Tour Of Duty"may even be better than the first.Hopefully your health is finally getting in order and you can start enjoying life more again.I miss the old Chris and the fun chat sessions that we all participated in.Well anyway I know things change in life but having you stop back in again is a real treat!Take care my friend and hoping to see more correspondence from you.Cheers!
Mark
Hey Mark thanks a bunch for all the encouragement! Things are improving for me healthwise, still a long climb ahead but making progress. No thanks to my doctor though, he's good for writing prescriptions but not much else.
I am getting back to my old self, hopefully anyway. You can all tell how I am doing by activity here, when I am feeling pretty good I don't shut up LOL
Take care, and hey I liked the cool picture of you and the BushMaster :) pretty cool.
Hi Chris. You are looking better now than what you looked like in your avatar. I hope you're all better and that you will grow out your hair. Nevertheless, I did have dreams that I got a nasty trim (enough that I cannot put it in my ponytail anymore) or that I got my head shaved off. And when I wake up, at least it was not real. By the way, my hair is down to my shoulders. Take care.
Regardless
That avatar picture was from my webcam so its not that great with color and lighting. I am slowly getting better, still have a ways to go but I do the better I feel the more like my old longhair self I become. It is still a bit of 'two steps forward one step back' though.
Hey glad you have stuck it out and have shoulder length hair, good on ya! I never had the haircut dream when I had the long hair but I did have longhair dreams when I had shorter hair like now, and I did before I first grew out. One of the reasons I tried the whole longhair thing to begin with, my subconscious had its own mind I suppose LOL
thanks for the kind words an you also take care :)
Hi Chris! :-)
You are looking simply WONDERFUL in these photos as if the bout with the illness is at long last well under control. I surely hope this is so and it is ALWAYS a pleasure seeing a posting from you on the board. And the long hair is looking great as well.
Take care Chris and I hope all is going much better for you now. It certainly looks it.
Justin~
Thanks as ever for the kind words Justin. I am glad you are doing so well too, sorry I missed your birthday post, Happy 60th (although I am still not convinced there Justin, you look younger than I do, lemme see that birth certificate LOL)
You are living proof that attitude DOES affect one physically as well as mentally. I have a cousin a year younger than myself but she has grown into an old matronly woman (in dress, attitudes, etc.) at 44, shocks me whenever I see her, sigh.
Take care Justin, thanks for keeping all of us young with your wit and warmth :)
*Birth Certificate? Oh yeah......those had not been invented when I was born for it was on a "Leap Year!" LOL :-)
I sure hear you about that and I really think attitude has much to do with it as well. One MUST be themselves and not allow themselves to be "tainted" by what society seems to dictate.........or rather what the masses seem to "try and imitate" just because everyone else is doing it and somehow through this insecurity feeling "think" it will gain them acceptance into the crowds. But, let's face it, I am a Mental Case (but then who isn't) and in my mind I just remain young and pay no attention to years, fads, or what I am suppose to act like at a certain age. I am only being myself. Amazing as it may sound Chris is that barely 6 months ago I was right at deaths door and an undiscovered Diabetic Type II in bad shape. Insulin saved me just in time. This single event has changed my outlook on things now even the more-so than ever before, and I dare say so for the better. I have had in my life 3 very narrow escapes with death including my heart stopping for several seconds, and yet ea. episode has taught me more about what is REALLY IMPORTANT in life. And it isn't the mundane that most everyone else "thinks" is such a big deal and so important such as who said what, what could that person be thinking, have to do this or that to please everyone so they won't make fun of me or even living the entire year for the high point of ones life being the Super Bowl. WHEN WE DON'T HAVE OUR HEALTH WE HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! WHEN YOU CAN'T BE YOURSELF YOUR SPIRIT IS STIFFLED! Alowedto have been stiffled (by choice usually) unfortunately for the masses has been a life tossed away as unlived. The BEST way to know all of this is just to observe a very young child. So beautiful, still untainted by outside life influences, loving and accepting of all. Keep that spirit going in your mind and I do believe that anyone would be better off for it. In fact this entire mess of a world we live in would be better off living in the world of a loving, generous and accepting child. TO BE RICH DOES NOT MAKE ONE HAPPY.TRUE HAPPINESS CANNOT BE PURCHASED!
Thanks Chris..........but I don't know how much more they can take of my "wit!" Let's faces it, my sense of humor is off the charts! But is it ever fun to be this way. To be able to laugh at ones self (which DOES NOT MEAN DOWNING ONESELF) can be just so much fun.
Take care Chris-
Justin~
Hi Chris,
What a delightful surprise, to see you posting again, and growing your hair long again. You have made amazing progress in a short period of time!
I hope that you have been feeling better and better every day!
Take care,
David
Thanks David for your kindness as always. I am only an intermittant poster as I am able to, but hoping to not be one of those 'hit and run' picture update posters LOL
Take care David :)
Hey Chris,it's awesome to see you're growing your hair out again,it is looking super cool and well taken care of.Don't give up on it,cause your hair is just too awesome to have it short.Peace and I hope you feel better everyday :).

Hey I checked out your UK and Ireland video, awesome pictures man. You got some great shots, I really liked the one of the old longhaired fellow sitting with you, and the shaggy Highland cattle. LOL
Someday I would love to visit over there.
I'm so glad you're coming around with your health, you look very well. Not only do you, but your hair does too! Looks like you're back on the road to glorious long hair!
Cheers,
Hegg
Hey thanks so much for the kind words Hegg, I really appreciate them. And let me congratulate you on sticking out 2 years of growing and posting such a fantastic update! I am so envious of that shine :) Bravo!
Take care!
Any time, Chris! And thank you for your kind words on my update! Have a good weekend.
Cheers,
Hegg
Hey Chris, so nice to see your update. You look very well...I presume you are feeling OK too. You are a longhair in my opinion if you are dreaming about long hair and waking up disappointed upon realizing it's not as long as you want...as simple as that. Nice seeing you.
Cheers,
Max
Hey thanks Max for the kind words. I am progressing, my interest in long hair seems to coincide with my overall interest in everything so I really hope as my health improves overall I will really get into the spirit of this longhair thing again :) Right now it cuts in and out like short circuit, so I take each day as it comes and try to find my next handhold on the climb back upward.
Take care Max
Hey Chris the guys name in the picture is Sean Ryan hes the owner of Leap Castle in Offaly county,Ireland its the most haunted castle in the land which is awesome! he was a great guy to talk with and a great long hair and beard! :)
That guy has a real character look my friend, he certainly looks the part :)
Sounds like that place would be interesting to stay in overnight LOL
Great pictures all around Mark, thanks for sharing them.
Take it easy man :)
Having viewed your progress from beginning to end once before, I hope this time around is equally fascinating for you and me both! :) Stay Strong!
Thanks for the encouragement Zac, I appreciate it. I have no idea what's in store but I will take it one day at a time, as they say.
I am hoping to gain some more enthusiasm as time goes on, I was quite into the whole long hair thing when I started. Did all of our trials and triumphs finally convince you to go for it yourself this time, as you didn't cut this time where you usually did?
Take care!
Long time no see! You look great, Chris! Your hair always was awesome.
jeffrey
Hey thanks a lot for the kind words Jeffrey. I kind of feel like I let everyone down, even myself somewhat when I cut my hair awhile ago. But then and occasionally these days I lost the vital connection that drove me to do so in the first place.
We'll see what happens,
take care Jeffrey
Chris, Hope all is well with you. Looks like you have a great start on the next hair farming expedition! Keep it growin n flowin!
peace, jonalbear
Hey thanks John, I appreciate the kind words. If you guys can't get some enthusiasm out of me nothing will :)
Hi Chris, it's a good look for you; I like where the part is. thanx for the update,
rob
Hey thanks Rob I really appreciate the kind encouragement. Hope all is going well with you ;0
It is a pleasure to hear from you Chris and this is really a good update.
some days I am more long hair aware than others as in noticing the longhairs around me and on my better days being jealous!
Sure sign of a true longhair!
I do hope that you feel better each and every day.
Take care,
Bruce
Why thanks Bruce, it is good to be back here, even if it isn't as often as I used to be.
My enthusiasm comes and goes but here's hoping it will stick longer and longer, would be fun to a regular here again :)
Take care Bruce
Chris:
Great to see your update and you look absolutely wonderful !! Your look is completely different from your last journey, very modern, youthful and professional looking. And of course you are a long-hair......heck your hair is longer than mine and you know how long I've been at this.....sigh ! HA!
Thanks for Sharing !
Walter
Hey thanks Walter, I appreciate the kind words. Alhough I really don't have that many things I can do with my hair and I think I am doing the same thing as last time. But my hair does vary from day to day or hour to hour too LOL
Hey I enjoyed the pictures from your travels Walter, you look happy and I like the windblown look. Great pictures, length isnt as important as interesting character and you have plenty of that!
I am glad you enjoyed your break from the desert heat.
Take care my friend :)
Your hair is looking good Chris. May your latest hair journey result in success.
Scott
Thanks so much Scott you are always such a staunch supporter :) I am not sure yet what success is for me, but I will probably know it when I see it :) I will inevitably get more chatty thats for sure, I miss our MLHH chats. Hopefully will get back to them.
For me health and hair are all intertwined :)
I hope things are going well with you, Scott. Take care !
It's good to have you posting again, hope everything is better now.
Your hair is looking great.
Hey thanks for the kind words Vincent, I appreciate them. Things are getting better though I still have a ways to go yet. But this is one of the pleasant things I can enjoy along the way.
Take care Vincent
Hi Chris,
Great update mate and upwards and onwards.
Cheers,
John.B
Thanks mate always appreciate your posting.
Hope all is well with you John, take care
Nice hair :) how long have you grown it?
Patrick_R
Thanks Patrick, I used to be quite a regular around here until I did the unthinkable (for most of you!) and cut my long hair. Used to look like this at its longest in November 2007.
I remember when I was really into growing out my hair this first time and I read of people cutting such long hair I couldn't believe it or understand it. Would not have believed it would have happened to me too, but one never knows what will happen..
Anyway I started re-growing last December after I cut it, but a bit subdued in my passion for it from the first time.
Looking at this picture I do feel regret somewhat, which was the whole point for me anyway.
You will always be a longhair in my mind, Chris. Keep it growin' and flowin'.
TLH
Hey thanks for the encouragement Tex :)
Hopefully it won't have to just be in your mind but I have learned I suck at prediction LOL, so I won't say more. We all do what we think is best at the time for us. Right now letting it grow seems the thing to do so I won't stress about how "important" it ought to be, or compare my interest in it against others here. That didn't help me at all!
Hope things are going well with you, how are the classes coming?
Well take care my friend :)
Chris, you always did have the fastest growing hair on here!!
What a grow spurt, you know it does suit you long hair, it really does. I hope you decide to let it grow again (no pressure like!!)
Take care Chris and thanks for posting
~ Dave
Hey Dave, thanks for your kindness as ever.
I suppose I am enjoying the summer growth spurt people sometimes report. I do think I looked pretty good with it, and I know that being able to see that seems to be related to my mood and health. I knew when I cut it that regret was a distinct possibility, and I actually kept it for a long while after I stopped caring so much for that very reason. For me the 2 week rule was much more than 2 months even!
I do enjoy the whole longhair camaraderie thing :) so I hope I can fix my brain LOL, which is where long hair really starts :)
Take care and keeping growing that awesome mane mate, your 32 month update was ferocious :)
Great progress,Chris! It's an honor to have you around here again. I'm thrilled! :-) Hope you're doing alright Chris. Good luck on this new journey :-)
Hey thanks for your super kind words and encouragement Chris, they really do make a difference.
I had to return I just couldn't stay away from your excellent Wolfman updates :) You really have an awesome look with that color and texture, quite awesome!
I hope things are going well with you too, hopefully I will get back to doing the chat thing soon. Was fun when lots of us would waste hours online lol!
Take care my friend :)
Good to see you back on the board, Chris, and your hair is off to a fine start. I hope your spirits and hearlth have improved~
Mouse
Thanks so much Mouse, I appreciate your kind words and encouragement! Things are indeed looking up but more work needs to be done but it is nice to see some improvement after so long.
Hey Mouse I really loved your 2 year update, you have incredibly beautiful hair. No fair amazing and dazzling your kung fu opponents and taking advantage ;)
Hope all is well with you, take care until next time!
Looks great Chris! I can definitely see some growth since last time:)
Take care!
