Hello everyone,
It's finaly here, my one year update without any trims! I've made a special update because this is a special milestone.
I'm pretty pleased with the results until now (see the other picture with progress pictures), the next year can only make it better. I always wear my hair tucked or ponytailed. As you can see not all my hair fits in my tail yet, so I still use a bandana or hat a lot.
I will keep on growing it without trims, but maybe I will do a trim at some point in the future to get my hair all at the same lenght.

Was the only picture I got, it was before I started to take monthly pictures.
I agree that in July and August you were getting to the length where the hair looks good. BUT, you are smiling wide in the first two months, and you have a nice smile...so my suggestion is smile wide in your next progress pic and you'll have the best of them all.

The first two are normal pictures, the rest is taken special for the hair. But I will keep it in mind the next time.

Funny, my hair is quite greasy in that picture but I used a brush to work it all the way through the end so my hair was very shiny at that moment. I seldom use a brush, was just to trie it out.
Congratulations on your milestone. Thanks, Vincent, so much for providing your pictures and progress report; you have inspired me to try growing my hair longer.(I've never been more than six months without a haircut.) It is interesting to see the evolution of your hair, which is beginning to take on some nice waves. It looks excellent long; in my opinion you do not need a trim. Please keep us posted with pictures and reports in the next year.

Thanks, it's cool I inspired someone to grow his hair long when I only had longhair for sush a short time. The progress pictures of other people helped me too, it's nice I can do the same for someone else.
I will keep making pictures every month, it's also for myself to look back at and to share my progress with you.

I've always liked the "Declaration of Independence/Constitutional Signer" ponytail length, and your hair is looking great. An enormous amount of growth for only one year. And I have to be honest, as good as your hair looks long, you weren't bad looking at all with short hair! That's something that can't be said for all of us ;-)

I'm not very pleased with the ponytail yet but it's getting better.
I wear it when the curls in my hair drive me insane or when it's windy outside.
I've had quite a growth spurt in the summer where I also missed a month when I was away. I should go on holiday more often, maybe my hair will grow that fast the whole year.
Yes, it was on of the reasons I cut my hair short when I grew my hair for the first time. I was looking at old pictures and in the middle of the akward stage and decided short looked better.

You truly have fantastic hair. It's so thick and I can't get over how fast it grows! The month by month comparison photos really show this off. I suspect it won't be much more time at all before all your hair reaches the tail.

Yes it grows very fast, I'm very pleased with the rate.
My gues is the same, my temples almost fit in the tail. My pony will follow in a few months.

Thanks, I was a hard year sometimes from now on it will be easier to grow it longer as the akward stage is almost over.
But being able to tail is will be even more helpfull.

Yeah the shorter layers are VERY annoying when trying a ponytail. I have this problem.
I loved seeing the progress pics. However I noticed with each passing month you seem less happy :/. Strange huh?

Yes the first pictures are normal pictures the rest is posed special for the hair growth so that are harder pictures.
Good point, it will be exciting to see how it will be it's a big surprise for me I've never had it this long.

Yes it is, I finger comb my hair in the morning (and sometimes comb it) Through the rest of the the day I finger comb my hair when it's needed.

Vincent, Awesome update and very good pictures your hair has really grown since your avatar. The colour shine and health all look great and although it is different lengths it looks good. Maybe it will gradually even out on it's own and you won't need to trim. Who knows.

Yes, that's the reason I take the pictures so I can see the difference. Which keeps me motivated at times I think it grows to slow.
We'll see if I need a trim, I will wait with trimming as long a possble and at least until I got a decent lenght.
I really like the all one lenght look which Jason has.
Maybe at that time I don't want a trim anymore, or don't need one if the ends are still curly.

Hey man, your hair looks exactly the same as mine! There's one thing I'm curious about.
Which products do you use and how often? How does your week look like? I noticed that my hair gets greasy very fast, as in 2 days or so, but If I wash it, its hard to keep it in one place, cant even make it stay behind the ears :(.. which sucks, because I work in a bar where I serve hundreds of customers , and speed is very important ;x

My hair also get's greasy very fast.
I wash my hair twice a week with shampoo and use a lot of conditioner, both from andrelon. Sometimes I wait a little bit longer with washing and hide my greasy hair with a hat.
When I just washed it my hair is more frizzy and bigger, and like you say harder to keep in the same place.
At work I wear a ponytail and a hat, the hat is part of the uniform so that's easy.
Don't know I you can wear a hat at your work?
You could also use hair pins or a tiara to keep your hair in place.

I work as a bartender, so I guess wearing a hat is out of question :( I might put it in a ponytail and just grease down or put some gel on all the hair that stands away.

That's some very good progress. Your hair seems to shine a lot too :)
Also, trimming isn't necessary to even out the hair, it seems to self regulate its own length. So for example, those hairs that are longer, have an increased chance to shed, than those that are shorter. So slowly but surely, your shorter hairs will catch up with your longer ones :)

When I'm not satisfied I will trim it. I think I will let it grow for at least another year before doing anything.
Very nice, Vincent! You've hit a milestone that many prospective longhairs fail to reach. Just wait for the second year, and you'll be the envy of many. Take care and keep it growing. =)

What do you do with your hair after you washed it? Do you put it behind your ears or just leave it as it is?
Do you have to "manage" the front hair after having a shower? I have to do this every time, since my front hair got some weird waves.. Cant wait till I can tuck them behind the ears :p
Of course not, that what this board is about to help each other.
I put it behind my ears right away, that way it dries in that position and stays there better. I let my hair air dry btw.
I've had the same trouble, some days my hair was okay but some days there were weird waves.
Before that time I used water to make them a little wet, but that is only a temponary solution. I also had to push them back the whole day.
The only real solution is to tuck it behind your ears, which was possible for me from the 10-11 month.
I am sorry to be late on this, but your hair looks great, Vincent. Soon nearly all of it will fit in a ponytail. I am not trying to burst your bubble here, but there is always about 10% that does not fit in the tail, due to new hairs that are always growing in. (see photo) My tail is a meter in length and I still have many of these short hairs to deal with. Years from now they will reach a meter in length too.
