hi, during the first year of growing my hair out i used this site as a reference, and i first have to thank all of you, even though i didn't ask any questions, reading the answers to others helped me a bit.
but now, at 2 years and 5 months im beginning to have alot trouble with humidity and frizz.
i live in houston, and humidity is always very high, i don't know if thats whats causing the frizz or not.
ive tried using conditioner only, ive tried shampoo and conditioner, and water only, ive tried jojoba oil, but i can't seem to keep the frizz away for most of the day.
it looks good while its wet, but it dries out quickly and very quickly becomes a frizzy mess.
what are some solutions i could look into?
here are some photos, thanks for any and all help.
the first photo is the best ive ever got it to look dry,
id like to be able to keep this look throughout the day, but it always gets screwed up, and now i cant even get it like this anymore.

thanks again
It's probably the humidity, in the case of humidity you might want to consider using an anti-humectant on your hair. Aveda makes a nice one.
Try Aloe Vera Gelly as a leave-in conditioner. it's basically a gel consisting of aloe vera and dimethicone. There's probably nothing that works 100%. Remember that even if you found something that completely eliminated frizz, it would also eliminate body and leave your hair limp. the aloe vera gel is available at whole foods, meijer, health food stores, and some supermarkets.

My hair is actually the same texture as yours (and similar colour naturally) so this weirdly seems like a potential future problem for me.
I hate frizzy hair. it really sucks. ugh!
the best thing I could do to eliminate most of it (especially this month; the most humid in my country) is to leave it air dry with no messing around, it usually ends up flat. this gives leeway for when it grows over the course of the day. however when i don't have time to let it dry at home in peace, i end up gelling it and using a touch of hairspray. the frizz is 70% gone :). I just wear buffs a lot right now. Paha.
Nice hair! doesn't look too frizzy to me! my hair gets MUCH worse on some days!! maybe if it grows longer the weight of the longer hair would help reduce frizz drastically. but i'm not too sure (us curly haired people have hair with a mind of its own!).
Good luck. I think Aloe Vera Gel would work great. I'm still looking around shops to find it!

thanks for all the answers,
i know ill never be able to 100% fix it, but itd be nice to have a little more control over it.
ill be sure to check out everything that was mentioned after this storm is gone.
Hi Rakoro, I've had frizz problems, too. I think part of it is the type of hair we have and part is the Texas humidity. If you ask me, I still think your hair looks great.
BTW, I hope you survived Ike okay. You definitely didn't want to get the hair out in that wind.
Keep it growin' and flowin'.
