What else can I say?
It's been this huge journey but at the same time it's gone so fast. And I don't regret a thing. All learning, just as life itself, and thankfully, inprooving.
For the newer people who don't know, I started in this board when I was still at 8 months of growth. I started being very active but now I'm very busy with life and I had enough of computers so I read much more then I post. Anyways, I owe a lot to this forum regarding my hair, for this was where I started to learn to take proper care of it, and it's a place where you can rant, talk about the positives and negaties, and you learn a lot =)
Thank you everyone for the suport I could always find in your words. This place should never be forgotten by people who grow their hair from here and with the help of the members.

I am aiming for classic lenght, which is butt lenght. It represents 120 cm on me, about 47 inches.

Joao, Wow! Your hair has progressed nicely. Beautiful wave and color. Do you think it will grow more or is it nearing terminal length? My 4th year will be coming up in November and alas I believe it will be terminal. I know this because I use to cut the sides and am growing them out. Have had the tail for 15 years and it stopped growing at about 4 years.

I do hope I'm not anywhere near terminal because I want my hair much longer! According to the longhaired girls in my faminly, my genes can definitly grow longer. But hey, I'm here to see =) I do hope terminal is still very away from me...

Your hair is actually curlier than mine but I'm sure it's gonna look fabulous either ways =) The first and most important step to gorgeous hair is to accept your own hair texture and learn to make the best of it. I used to want straight hair but now I wouldn't trade my hair type for any other...

Wow, your hair is so amazing. I have been following your site for quite some time now, and I look at it daily for inspiration. I am only at about the 18th month on your progress chart, and as of right now I am shooting for the 35th month mark, =]. Big congrats to you for four years!
If it is not too much to ask, could you tell me if you wash/condition daily? Any help would be fantastic. Again, great hair and I wish you luck in continuing your journey!

Of course it's not much to ask, I love helping others with their hair, if I can =)
I only wash my hair once a week, with shampoo and conditioner, and then I use jojoba oil. Your washing skedual should be according to your hair type and lenght. You shoulnd't use shampoo more than twice a week tough, it's very rough on hair and can cause damage in the long run. I used to wash twice a week and noticed a huge improovement when I changed my routine. If your hair is to the oily side, just make sure to spread the oils in the lenght and it will look great! You have to give the natural oils the necessary time to run trough the lenght, that's why the longer the less frequent the washes should be.

Hey thank's for the comment! Actually, my trick to extra shine is very simple: after conditioning your hair, just don't remove the conditioner with warm water, do it with cold water. I go slowly so it's not such a shock! But I always finish with the water as cold as possible. It's good for your hair and to the skin as well! It closes the cuticles and the pores!

I try to rinse with cold water, but we only have cold water here for half the year. It's so hot that the cold water comes out at body temperature.
Hey don't complain, in some regions during the winter, hot water comes out as cold....now that's really bad :P
As usual JD your updates are breathtaking as your hair is to die for.You have to be proud of the length you have achieved to date and if you can grow it longer that would be awesome:)It sounds like you have a very supportive family who appreciate your beautiful mane.Your are lucky in that respect as a lot of guys have problems with acceptance by family and friends.
I know what you mean about the computer thing as you are not the only one here who wants a break from it.Hopefully though you'll still stay fairly active at mlhh as you are an asset to the community.Thanks so much for sharing that terrific pic.Hope to see you again in the not to distant future my friend:)

Actually I had to conquer most of the acceptance I now have. My parents don't like my hair but my sister has grown a big affection for it, she liked it better short on me but now wouldn't let me cut it =)
On the other hand, my classmates like my hair a lot and don't see me with any other style. It's part of who I am now =)

I'm actually lucky that I got the colour from my mom. Her hair was the same colour as mine when she was my age. People tought her hair was coloured and I sometimes got that too hehe. The waves are from my father, tough he never had hair as long as I do now... =P

Your hair is gorgeous, João. It is incredibly thick and full. When seen from the back, you probably get mistaken for being a woman sometimes. (It has happened to me.) Consider it a compliment. You are probably tall enough that being mistaken for a woman when seen from behind happens only occasionally. I am estimating that you are about 180 cm tall, and only a small percentage of women are taller that 180 cm.
I am so glad that MLHH has been very helpful in achieving your long hair goals. This is why we exist. Our primary purpose is to give support to men in growing and maintaining long hair. You are an MLHH success story. From what I see, your hair is nowhere near terminal length yet. With patience, you can probably get it to knee length.

I'm actually 176, so you're not wrong for much. As being mistakes for a women, it happend all the time, from behind and from the front, and I don't wear my hair loose very often. I don't mind anyways =P It always happened and I'm used to it, I always take it as a compliment.

Hi João, I have included an image of the ends of my hair which is at terminal length. Notice that it is thicker above but see how it tapers down to juat a few strands at the ends. Your hair is dense and thick all the way to the ends. I took a good look at your progress photo from today and from June. I see no signs of thinning at the ends. I looked at your video and growth chart too. Your growth is steady and fast. From what I see, you are good for at least another 30 centimeters of growth, likely 40, and possibly 50. You will be able to reach classic length for sure.
How thick is your ponytail? I am sure it is at least 10 centimeters in girth. (mine is 6.6) Also, your hair looks coarse to me. Your hair strands are probably 100 microns in diameter. Coarse hair is very durable and resistant to damage. Mine is somewhat fine at about 70 microns and very fragile which makes my hair break very easily. The average diameter of a human head hair is 80 microns.
I was over estimating your height because you are slender. Slender people tend to look taller than they actually are. You are about my height. 175 to 176, depending on time of day.
Again, I am thrilled that MLHH was able to help you achieve your long hair goals.

I've never gone longer than mid-back before, and I'm about 8 cm past shoulder length now.
