Hey y'all!
I think my last update was in April...work's been nuts, I had a couple of medical thingys, and I crashed on my bicycle last month. So it's been a painful yet good year. Here's my updates for September...
I usually wear my hair down all the time now. I only put it in a ponytail once in a while. I get a "hippie" or "rock star" comment now and then, but it feels good.
One more...by the way, I started using a natural bristle brush. Boys, let me tell you - it's made all the difference in the world. If you don't have one, go out and get one. You won't be sorry. Tangles are almost never an issue now!

There is no limit to how long I WANT it to grow...Unfortuantely I'm not too far away from the terminal length that I achieved a couple of years ago. However, this time around, I've taken MUCH better care of my hair and I do think it's growing faster. I just hope that maybe taking better care of it will allow me to get just a few inches more in length...then I'll be happy.

I have to say that the improved texture comes from using a natural bristle brush. It really makes it feel much better. I couldn't believe the difference.
As far as the color goes...the days of coloring the gray in my hair are gone! I'm glad to say the color you see is natural. I haven't colored my hair since before I cut it last...and that was June 2006. I like the color of my hair very much...I just try to convince myself that the gray steaks are really blond. That helps me get through it LOL.

Thanx, Regardless. I didn't mean for it to sound like I was near death or anything...just a couple of setbacks, but its all cool now. As far as the waves go, I get more definition from that brush I was talking about. Good luck on your longhair journey. Yours is looking well too!

What an outstanding update, and your hair certainly grows quickly! You have achieved a gret mane in only 2 years pf growing, and should be able to grow it a lot longer if you wish.

Hi David...it's good to hear from you. Things are much better now...the bike crash was just the pinnacle of a semi-suckass summer! All is good now.

Once my hair gets to the two year point it seems like it grows slower...or maybe its just because it's harder to notice the progress once it gets below your face. Anyway...that's why I don't update that frequently, because I don't notice that much of a change. But I'm definitely loving it.

Thanx for the kind words, Vivien! I agree that it thins out...which is a bummer. I'm not even sure if maintenance trims would help with that. I don't know. If anyone has any insight, let me know.
I went with the goatee thing for a couple of weeks then, as I usually do, I jacked it up when I trimmed one side incorrectly...so I just shaved the whole thing off. It made me look older too, which is a definite negative in my book LOL.

It may have been since last April that we saw an update but some things are worth the wait. Your hair looks good and like me you have a cool two tone thing going. I wish you a less painful autumn and hope things get better from here.

Sorry to hear about your misfortunes but your fabulous mane kind of makes up for that I would say.I checked out your link and admit you've made tremendous progress from the early days up to present day.I'd love to wear my hair loose all the time myself but unfortunately its really not practical when I'm at work or outdoors in general if I want to avoid a tangled mess in the evening.The one downfall to having fine waist length hair as in my case.I've discovered the boar bristle brush myself recently after seeing other guys here rave about them and I admit its the best hair brush I ever used.Anyway great update and just keep doing what your doing my friend as it seems to be working.

Excellent hair! I think you and I have similar hair thickness.
I even part my hair the same way you do, LOL.
I looked over your photobucket progress pictures and I see a lot of similarities in your progress and mine. You're wayyy ahead of me in length, though, and I'm convinced you have a faster growth rate than me.
I'm hoping mine will lie like yours does now when it reaches that length. Also, today marks my 21st month since starting from a near buzz-cut.
Thanx for the compliment, Bill. Don't worry about the growth rate. Yours is probably just as fast as mine. I didn't start from a buzz cut like you, so I was ahead of the game. Is this the first time growing it? I wish you luck and hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

Nothing beats yours, though. You have some awesome hair. I'd always envisioned growing mine that long, but genetics sees it differently. Maybe someday they'll come up with something that will enable growth beyond terminal length! A man can dream!
