This photo was taken yesterday (9-26-08) right after posting what I did below about needless trims, thinning outs and even-ups so that all could see the results of "after" the massive yearly shedding of hair. Note that "after" the hugh amount of shedding that the hair is still quite full looking, is quite even looking and at least in my opinion couldn't be looking better by just letting nature do all of the work by herself naturally. I would call it a superb trim no question! So, who needs a Salon? Could they do any better than this? Does my hair not look well enough as it is right now? I am certainly happy with it. If there is something wrong with natures "trim," please let me know. Thanks.
Wishing you all a great weekend.
Justin~
ps: No, I am not going bald. What you see on the top back of my head is how the center part ends which is normal for myself. The other spot is merely a miss of the brush, nothing more. But I would hardly pay some Salon 35.00 or whatever to brush that out. I'll get it next time. Quite simple.
Hi Justin,
What a fantastic job for your "trim", and your ends are so thick and even. You should be able to grow it a lot longer if you wish. What a fantastic mane, and such a fortunate throw of the genetic dice for you.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend too!
My best, as always,
David
Hi David
Yes.........a lucky throw of the dice it was for sure. Your comments as always are deeply appreciated. Take care-
Justin~
Your hair looks beyond great to me! Fantastic length, I love it. Nature at it's best, for sure. Looking absolutely wonderful, Justin.
Cheers,
Hegg
Hey Hegg
Thank you for the compliments, but just you wait as your own hair will look MUCH better than does mine. I rather do think that you will enjoy it at this length. Hard to describe unless you have it. But, you'll find out. All the best-
Justin~
Justin,
You are a role model! I hope my hair can look like yours as it grows out.
In my opinion, hair salons charge outrageous prices.
I have to agree with that, Justin you are inspiration and few few trims...how about that trimmers!!! Oh come on do reply!
Hey John
Speaking of inspiration, what about your own sensational mane as we all saw when those photos were posted. Now THAT was inspiration for sure! :-)
As for the "trimmers," perhaps they are all away today........getting their hair trimmed to "even it out" and set themselves back by months only to later wonder why their hair grows so slowly. LOL
Take care-
Justin~
Wow.........I never expected a compliment like this at my age. Thank you so much for your kindness. Best of luck to you with your own hair and just simply let it continue to grow.
Justin~
Thanks for sharing, your hair looks amazing!
Hi Vincent
I was happy to share and did so to show what hair left untouched for the most part can do all by itself. Some just make the whole thing so difficult. Best thing is to "go with the flow and just let it grow!"
Thanks for the compliment and your own long hair is doing just great! :-)
Justin~
Sure, Justin, the trim is fantastic. I would be happy to have such nice hair in 30 years !
At first sigth, as your shirt is partly black (shoulders and arms) on dark green background, I was wondering why you were so "fine" (and, in fact, armless) :)
Vivien
Hi Vivian
You are just so kind. But 30 more years will go by like minutes and unless baldness runs in your family ther shouldn't be any reason for you not to have nice long hair then as you do now. Thank you for all that you do for this great MLHH.
All the best-
Justin~
You can't knock that! Top stuff Justin
Neil
Hey Neil
So nice of you to say that, and it IS on the top........of my head! One question however. Is there anything left inside that head? LOL :-)
Thanks for the kind words Neil which are appreciated more than you will ever know.
All the best-
Justin~
Your hair looks great. Trims are only okay if the ends needs to be even up, and you are past your desired length. Awkward phase trims is a no-no, and because of that, I made a decision that growing out my hair is more important to me than seeing my dad.
Regardless
Good for you and sticking to your guns.
Read you next update in October!
Cheers,
John.B
(n/t)
And I second that as well for you Regardless. Applause!
Hi Regardless and thank you for saying what you have about my own long hair. And yes, you are so right. Little trims (mere dustings) may at times be needed to "protect" the good hairs from the ones with split ends. But as for Awkward Stage trims? A big waste of time and money. There has been more misery caused on this MLHH because of good deed doer trims in the past than you would ever believe. Despite, guys just do not seem to learn and some will even do it another time! Then they get on here and tell us of their woes despite having been warned in advance by others. Oh well, people do what they want to do when they want to do it.
Your own long hair is looking magnificent and will be the envy of so many before you know it. If not now already.
Justin~
Hi Justin.
To tell the story of the trims, my dad made me get a trim for my cousin's wedding back in February. Otherwise, he would not let me hop on the plane to go to North Carolina to go to my cousin's wedding. My dad was a horrible trimmer. I looked like a Chinese girl right afterward. My hair slowly grew back through the months, but I still have the "I need to be on guard" feeling when I go see my dad. Then this month, my dad said that he wants me to get another trim since my hair looked wild. I was already thinking that growing my hair is more important than seeing my dad. When my dad told me that it is time for another trim, I left his apartment really fast, and I declared the above statement. Don't worry. I had not seen him since that day.
Regardless
OUTSTANDING Justin!
Amazing mane for anyone, let alone a man of 60 years! By the way my hair does the same thing in the back, refering to the crown/part seperation. I've been away from the board for about a month, it's awesoem to return to such a fantasic update from you. I will hopefully get a chance to post more starting this week...new job/school is getting in the way lol.
Anyway, keep it growing, it looks like your ends are still healthy therefore it WILL keep growing.
Take care Justin!
-Phil
Hi Phil and great to see you back here. And thank you ever so much for the compliment. A true gentleman you are. Sorry school is getting in the way, but you know how schools are. In any case I wish you the best and will be happy when you can share with all of us your update. As for my age? Funny thing. I don't even give it a thought. In fact being 60 is actually great fun! :-) I don't quite know why, but it is and hardly feels like the end of the world in the slighest. I NEVER would have believed this when I was your age.
With all good wishes-
Justin~
Hey there Justin,
Your Hair is looking fantastic for a sexagenarian -
I'm assuming that your hair is still at it's natual colour?
If so you not only have a great head of hair (hey no worries you ever going bald)but amazingly youthful tresses too! From behind I'd think you were a spring chook!
Keep on growing
Regards
Duncan from OZ
Hi Duncan from OZ
*Well, and modestly only I will have to agree with that statement, but only with great modesty. Thanks! :-)
*Yes it is. You will notice that the ends turn a lighter colour, but this is what happens to long hair all by itself.
*Ha Ha Ha. Yikes! I don't know how I'm doing it and wondering just when the facade is going to crumble and I will look like something that just washed-up on a beach. LOL
I sure will and you too.
Best-
Justin~
Truely inspirational Justin great to see for what little you've had removed.
So there you go trimmers, so challenge me or stayin your sandbox!
Cheers,
John.B
Hey John
Thanks for the kind words which are appreciated ever so much. As for the trimmers, sometimes I almost wonder if they get these trims because they really don't really desire long hair? (Just a thought and nothing more to not annoy the trim happys.)
But Wait!
Sandbox? I have the BEST one in all the land bought from Goo-Goo Lands Toystore. It even has a corner for throwing temper tantrums. Can you imagine that? But the "trim Happys" probably don't know about this because they are playing with their toyland sissors! LOL :-)
Take care-
Justin~
Ps: Goo-Goo's is holding a sale tomorrow on Trikes for Tikes. The Model J is especially good and much better than the model T because it comes with a spare 4th tire in case one of the 3 gets a blow-out. In fact, it's a "BLOW-OUT SALE!" A GREAT way to save on energy costs these days.
A picture worth a thousand words! Now that's the best way to achieve longhair all you newbies looking for advice so put away the trimming scissors, straighteners, and other hair torturing devices and let your hair do what it does best........GROW!
Mark
Wow. Such a great compliment coming from one of the most sensational long hairs of all. Thank you ever so much Mark and you are so right about the Newbies. I just cannot understand why they think the way they do. When I was younger (about a million years ago) all we guys knew was to just let our hair grow and it would eventually be long. And you know what? It worked for everybody! Yes trimmers, the word is GROW!!!! Hairball KNOWS what he is talking about in case you haven't seen his magnificent mane.
All the best to you Mark
Your friend,
Justin~
Thanks Justin for the compliments but maybe your giving me too much credit. There are some fabulous manes here on this board, certainly yours included, that make mine look like small patatos. However I do have enough experience growing longhair to try and convince the newbies that its best not to keep trimming and evening hair as you go nowhere fast doing that.Hopefully they will listen.Anyway great pics Justin of your truly magnificent hair as you are a real inspiration to all:)Have a great weekend my friend!
Mark
Wow, Justin...
That's a great head o' hair!
Take care and keep it growin'!
Brett
Growing My Hair Out...Again! Progress Pics
Hey Brett-
So nice of you to say this and thanks so much. But what of your own long hair. Killer great! :-)
Take care-
Justin~
Fantastic mane Justin and nature does a fine job on your hair.
Your an inspiration to all and a fine example of what can happen if you just let it be.
Kevin
Hey Kevin
Actually I myself am a bit amazed at what nature can do and DOES do so perfectly. It is my hopes that the "trimmers" don't continue to fall for this trap and waste a whole lot of time not to mention money.
And speaking of inspiration. I would say that our wonderful President towers in the "Inspiration" catagory no question. Thank you for all that you are doing. And of your own long hair?
Beyond Magnificent!
Take care and hope you are having a nice weekend.
Justin~
"If there is something wrong with natures "trim," please let me know."
The length of your hair looks like it's in good condition. The bottom has a nice, neat, thick look.
(The hair closest to your scalp looks like it could use a good wash.)
That's what I like about you Mike (man of mystery) blunt as ever!
Youve been blessed with the shiniest, straightest hair Ive ever seen. I liked your 30th month update where your long brown hair flowed in the breeze and-oh wait, you dont have any pics of you anywhere!!
yeah youre really one to criticize lol
There's something about these people who offer their opinions and yet won't show themselves. I would suggest they lack credibility.
Ya think?
Yes, Kevin!
I totally agree! There are "certain people" who believe in criticizing others, but they have never shared anything about themselves, except an occasional blurry photo from the back. Perhaps if this "certain person" were to share more, his words might have more credibility!
Thank you Kevin!
Well said David and as you can see I've not started wearing a brown paper bag over my head yet lol!
Cheers,
John.B
But what of your own precious mouth dear sir I ask? Is there enough water on the face of the earth in which to wash it out? (Using shampoo amd TONS of conditioner of course.)
Hey Justin,
Well, I'd say that Mama Nature has blessed you in more ways than just one; but, She has especially gifted you quite generously in the Hair Department!!
Hope you are enjoying some nice autumn weather up there, Justin. Take care, my friend, --- and keep that gorgeous mane of yours growin' & flowing'!
Long Lox 4ever,
Ken
Hey Ken-
Great seeing you here on the board. Reminds me so of such fun days now gone which will never be forgotten. And believe me, at my age there is just so much to try and remember. But you would be impossible to forget. No way. Hope all has been going well with you down at the ranch. :-)
Yes, Mama was very nice to me with genetics on this one an I DO know that I am very fortunate.
You take care too Ken and hope you are enjoying some nice Autumnal weather down your way as well. Again, so glad to see you back, even if just to "lurk." Hey.........that's MUCH better than to "lurch!" LOL :-)
My best to you Ken as always. Your own long hair by the way is SENSATIONAL!
Hope to see you around here long before I find myself buttering and basteing my Thanksgiving Turkey. Oh.......and get this: No more Cranberry sauce for me. Now its "Maroon Sauce!" You've just got to try it. (And it must be eaten with a coat on. Can you imagine?) LOL :-)
Justin~
Hey Justin, your wonderful mane is testament to nature's way. Just perfect.
best wishes
Dave
Hey Dave
What an honour coming from you who is a super hero in the world of longhair. But you as well have chosen to take Natures course and look at what you have to show for it. An astonishing completely original long hair mane all to your own that could NEVER be duplicated by anyone else. And it fits you perfectly. Bravo!
Thanks so much for your kind words Dave and hope you had a great weekend.
Justin~
--------------
I had a wonderful weekend. I attended the annual SF longhair party on Saturday. (If you want more info on this event, feel free to e-mail me about it.)
Your hair is gorgeous, Justin. And it has a natural U shape. It looks like it has been slightly trimmed at the very ends. I hope your shedding cycle is over. (Mine was worrisome, but has ended.) I have a great number of new hairs in the 8" range growing in right now. I guess my scalp had to clear space for them.
Scott
Hey Scott
Be watching for the email and wonderful hearing from you. Glad you had such a great weekend at the annual SF party on Saturday. Sure wish they had things like this up this way.
As always Scott, you are always so kind with your remarks about my long hair and I appreciate it very much. But then, your own long hair I dare say could hardly be topped it is so magnificent!
No, my hair was not trimmed except for a "dusting" almost a year ago. It still needs nothing that I am aware of. And, I have YOU to thank for this which I will be emailing you about. :-)
And at long last the shedding cycle IS over and I am glad yours is as well as I know you were especially concerned by the accessive amount of hair loss this year. Wow..........even I was beginning to wonder how long it could keep it up as this year was the most severe shedding season that I can ever remember. And just like yourself Scott, I too have many 8" newbies growing in right now. Luckily for these yearly shedding seasons, they seem to leave my hair for the better when all is said and done and getting all in order every morning becomes such an easy breeze once again with the "normal" now being lost daily again which really isn't all that much. It is hardly enough to fill bowls and plates with as it was especially during August. Whew! LOL :-)
Anyway, we are both lucky at our ages to have long hair as well as we have and may we have at least another 20 years!
Take care Scott and a pleasure as always hearing from you.
Justin~
still looks good
