Hey all Newbie...yet not...Been at this awhile now...
Main advice...
**flat iron = bad.
**dyes = bad (same time henna = good - but prepare to commit.)
**ties = fine but go for thick and no metal.
**wash = swap out the shampoo's every once in awhile - and maybe do a vinegar rinse to strip some of the buildup (u'll smell like salad but will have VERY clean hair).
**condition = just a given...but again swap out (try the different things...different folks have different results).
**products = ya gotta mess with them - and in different orders/combo's - till you get it right (then change again after a bit). Only you know what you want and well, change is good.
**I know you have the urge to try blond....DON'T! HAHAHA! <== That one cost me close to 5 years of growing.
Other than that...time. Quit the focus...eventually you get there.

just another one...
Hi. To review what you said, I never use flat irons, I never use dyes, I use non-metal hairbands for ponytails, I wash every four days but I don't use vinegar. I generally do not have time for conditioner. I stay away from hair products. I do not blow-dry my hair.
Regardless
