Hey!
OK I know I mainly lurk on this board, but i'm sure most of you got used to me by now. hehe.
End of September was roughly my 15th month update since my hair was *nearly* shaved, however only 11 months from my last hair cut. In the last hair cut the hairdresser messed up the back and bottom parts of my hair, so it became really uneven as it grew out.
Anyway, here's a pic:
Front:
The green line is where the hair reached at 14 months, and the yellow line is where it is now.
Also the 'permanent' hairdye I used in mid-August 2008 nearly completely faded out and you know what hairdye fades into (a horrible pale orange)... so for the first time I used henna a few days before these photos were taken.
You can tell how red my hair came! :D
Feel free to see more here, and compare with previous months:

I still have a long way to go... but it's starting to weigh down. In the update pics it was damp (had just walked home in the rain) and I just oiled it too, compared with the previous update.
Hope you enjoy!
Shawn
wow Shawn im loving the curls dude! see now that your over a year into growth your hair is starting to weigh alot and pull itself down making it straighter on top which looks great! just imagine with a few more months added the hair is gonna get straighter and straighter by itself! its looking great bro def keep it growing and flowing! like the facial hair too i am jealous i can only grow a amish beard no mustache at all :( lol
Hi Shawn. Yout hair is looking good. At least you gained a haf of an inch during the last month. Yes, it is tough to grow out hair that is really curly. But you are getting there. Is your hair naturally orange? Even with very curly hair, your hair will eventually weigh down and bet a bit straighter, but not very straight. MY hair is merely wavy by comparison. I stay away from hair dyes myself.
Regardless
My hair is naturally light brown...some parts are blond (look at my facial hair).
In these pictures my hair is orange-red because I put henna in it the weekend before :)
Hi Shawn,
What an outstanding update, and I cannot get over how incredibly thick your hair is! Growing healthy long curly hair can be frustrating, but the rewards are well worth it.
Take care, and keep it growing!
David
Hey Shawn,
Your hair looks wonderful and as it gets longer it will look ever better. Great body there!
It's a trip down memory lane for me seeing your hair in the photos as my natural hair 20 years ago was exactly the same texture as yours in thickness and curls and similar colour too (without the dye) I cut it after nearly 2 years because the hair became badly damaged because I used rubber bands a lot and it caused heaps of split ends. It was frustrating as the hair took forever to grow down and grew out more! But stick with it Shawn and it will be well worth it.
I'll begin to show my face and hair soon when i can get a digital camera.
Look forward to further updates from you in the coming months...
Regards Duncan from OZ
I am jealous of those curls! I would kill to have them :D.
Anyways ,great update. Your hair grows fast, which is a good thing. past your chin at 15 months is a lot of progress, and I think with those curls it will pay off :).
Looks like good progress. I don't care for the color you ended up with though.
Hi Shawn,
In spite of all your hair has been through I'd say it looks really awesome right now!It may not be super long yet but that's the way it goes when its curly like yours is.In time though your hair will look tremendous not that it doesn't look great now:)Thanks for posting your update as its always great to hear from you whenever you can post.
Mark
Excellent progress Shawn, lookin' good!
Bruce
Your hair is coming along very nicely, you do got a long way ahead but it's worth it!
Hey!
Your hair is just like mine used to be when mine was that length! Your hair is great stuff. You're very lucky to have hair that thick - even though it can be a pain in the ass sometimes!
Keep it growing!
Neil
Your right it is beginning to weigh down and I thought the curl was a bit less but as you said it was damp. I visualize what it will look like in a few years when much longer and hope you keep growing cause I think it will look phenomenal.
As for the faded orange well Halloween is coming. LOL
Don't know you do Halloween in Malta though.
Kevin

The color that henna gives is fabulous :) Keep growing these great curls !
