I say kind of off topic because they all have awesome long hair.
As for the album - WOW! I think Twilight of the Thunder God is a total masterpiece, possibly their best yet. Every song is very well done.
Thoughts? Opinions?
Amon Amarth are brilliant! I really like their stuff and their live shows are great. I like the sword play and all the effort they put into their sets.
Very good band I saw them at Wacken and in Milwaukee.

I'll be seeing them live this Sunday!!! :D I can't wait to hear them perform their new work in front of me.
I agree. The title track is AMAZING. It remind sof Cry of the Black birds a lot though.
I plan on picking it up this weekend :D.
Haven't got a chance to hear the whole thing yet, but the songs I've heard sounded good. Although not as excellent as their last album, which I think was one of their best works. Anyone else heard the new Toxic Holocaust, Ironsword, or Holy Martyr? All those new albums kill!
Aye, new Toxic Holocaust is killer!!!

Good to hear from you again - was getting worried about you. Quite unusually you have not posted to your website since August: Then you were not too happy with your hair - are things OK with both you and your hair now?
D
I feel a bit better about my hair lately but I'm still feeling the effects of the massive shed over the summer. I think I'm still shedding above average but not as bad as then.
Since I cut the three inches off my length I haven't been as motivated to post new photos.
Good that you are OK - and still have your hair. I was concerned about you.
Hi Jason,
Well whatever works for you. I've been shredding to but I'm just going to out mine in a bowl and weight it from time to time!
Cheers,
John.B
I really like Amon Amarth but haven't got their new album yet, I'll be sure to check it out soon.
Unfortunately there I'm gonna miss their next show in Holland, there are two shows which I like on the same evening:
The Unholy Alliance Chapter III
Slayer, Trivium, Mastodon and Amon Amarth
Heidenfest Tour 2008
Thyrfing, Eluveitie, Equilibrium, Catamenia, Primordial, Månegarm
It was a though call but I decided to go to the 2nd.
But there will no doubt come another change to see them.
Just checked out the website and Finntroll is also playing!
After they cancelled first now they will play, that makes the evening even better.
Finntroll to perform in Holland!
02.10.2008
Good news for all FINNTROLL fans! After their highly acclaimed DVD-Show in Amsterdams Melkweg, the wild trolls pulled out all the stops to also perform at the HEIDENFEST show in Holland.
The result - FINNTROLL will headline the HEIDENFEST EXTENDED SHOW in Heerhugowaard, Waerdse Tempel on the 7th of November 2008!
Well at least you didn't waste any money on Trivium then!
Good choice I would take the second one as well.
Kevin
Awesome new album! I'd say it's as good as With Odin on Our Side. This album is much more melodic though but very similar to the improved style shown in WOOOS. The new Lord Belial, Into Eternity are also quite good...it's been a godo year for extreme metal releases so far!
PS. I love how the singer in Amon Amarth's hair and (mighty)beard both swirl when he does headspins.

For your information, metal music, especially death metal, gives me a headache listening to it. I may not even consider death metal music. I like most music, but metal is not on my list.
Regardless
Why is it that anyone someone brings up metal you try to demean the genre as much as possible. Not even music? Many death metal musicians are classically trained and have a great knowledge on music theory. I just don't understand why you even look at threads that have to do with metal music if you dislike it so much.
Coz it's the way some people talk and don't have anything interesting to say on the subject or re-arrange the words!
If you don't like that style of metal stay out of the KITCHEN!
Cheers,
John.B
Yeah it's not like we go around belittling your taste in music, why do it to us?
Do we need to know this?

I've not got it yet and will get it then and I'll post my considered opinion them. Sae then in London after Wacken 2007 what a post festival tonic..:-)
I would agree, their best album yet. One of the few albums this year to join my growing collection (of actual CD's). Just bought tickets to go see them next week to with Ensiferum!
The best is the music videos where they do the windmill headbanging in sync, gotta love that.
