As a slightly more 'on-topic' contribution (tongue planted firmly in cheek [grin]) I offer this list of little milestones in the transformation into a longhair. They're in no particular order other than how I typed them. For some of us, they'll be a trip down memory lane, for others perhaps an encouragement of things to look forward to....
1) Your bangs start to fall into your eyes
2) Your hair starts to tickle your ears
3) Your hair starts to tickle your nose
4) Your hair starts getting in the way of eating/drinking
5) You can start tucking your hair behind your ears
6) Your hair reaches your chin
7) You have to start pulling your hair out of your collar when you put on a shirt/jacket (approaching pony tail stage, woohooo!!)
8) That all important day when the hair from your hairline in front reaches all the way to the tie at the nape of your neck.... in other words, PONYTAIL DAY!!!!!!!!!!
9) When your hair will actually lay in front of your shoulders and stay that way.
10) When you twist your arm down and around your back, and stretch your fingers up.... and just barely tickle your fingertips with the ends of your hair (of course, when you rach this stage depends entirely on how flexible you are, lol)
11) When you do the above and can actually play with the ends of your hair some (for me this was about what women call "bra-strap length")
12) When you start having issues with shoulder-belts in cars
13) When your hair starts getting sucked out the window as you drive, or getting caught in the door/window frame when you close the car door on a windy day
14) When you prop yourself up from a lying position and trap your hair with your elbow or hand (Owie!!!)
15) When you need to scratch your back, and find yourself needing to brush your hair aside to find the right spot
16) When you have to start moving your hair aside in order to avoid getting it caught in your pants while getting dressed
One I haven't reached, but I imagine Scott, EdG and Trolleypup know about: When you have to worry about sitting on your own hair
(I'm getting real close, but not quite there yet)
I remember the bangs in my eyes which was really anoying.
From your list of milestones I'm looking forward to the day I can put all my hair in a ponytail!
The most recently archieved one it that I've got to pull my hair out of my shirt which means I'm getting close to a ponytail :)
I'm looking forward to other milestones, growing hair is a nice yourney.
Currently in the throes of these two and should move on to the next one in another few months. The longest strands just reach my belt now when wet but they spring back up to just above my waist when dry.
im at b/t stage 7/8 i can do a ponytail but all of it wont quiet go in but im close!
Now there are Three Steps To Heaven
Just listen and you will plainly see
And as life travels on
And things do go wrong
Just follow steps one, two and three
Step one - you find a girl to love
Step two - she falls in love with you
Step three - you kiss and hold her tightly
Yeah! that sure seems like heaven to me
The formula for Heaven's very simple
Just follow the rules and you will see
And as life travels on
And things do go wrong
Just follow steps one,two and three
Step one - you find a girl to love
Step two - she falls in love with you
Step three- you kiss and hold her tightly
Yeah! that sure seems like heaven to me
Just follow steps one,two and three
Hey that's a great longhair journey time line but for me those early stages happened over two decades ago.LOL.However all those ladder stages are so true to life for me except the sitting on my hair part.Oh well hope I have just a tad more in me to accomplish that one:)

Yeah, been waiting (im)patiently for that one myself. Mine keeps toying around with that stage, but doesn't seem to quite have the gumption for it.
One of my milestones is the first time I hear someone behind me trying to get my attention by calling out, "Excuse me, ma'am?", assuming I'm a woman based on the length of my hair. :-)
I'm about a month into the ponytail stage.
Another good addition. :D I get a kick out of the dazed look some people get when I turn and they see the beard.
Cool. Keep it growing, and eventually you won't have to worry about annoying logos on the back of your shirts, because nobody will see them anyway, LOL!!
Me right now! Wow, 8/16, a pass!
Wait, did I say 8/16? I meant, 9/16 . . . 'cause I'm as scrawny as a bean pole, making this 7.5 for me!
Make that 10/16, I guess I wear my bras high!
Awesome list, it's always great to have checkpoints. I know for me, I made quitea few: biting hair, "wings" disappear (you guys know), bangs touch adam's apple (most recent), meets its cousins in the armpit (next one, just after/around shoulder thing) . . . It does make it easier, thanks again!

and to add to the list:
18) Whenever you sit down and try to move your head, hair is torn out of the scalp. (Brains begin to loosen.)
19. One can't take a single step without triping over their own hair and landing flat in their face. (Sign of the true longhair suddenly is the one with the dislocated nose.)
20.) Finally abducted by an Alien from the Planet Goo-Goo thinking a new life form has suddenly appeared here on Earth. (Put in the "Alien Zoo.")
Rofl I hope my hair nevers get's that long.
I have an odd milestone. A few years ago while working one night
I felt a fly kept landing on my elbow. All night I felt that
tickle of a fly landing on me and always on my elbow so I kept
shooing it away all night. I thought why is this fly infatuated
with my elbow.
It was only after half the night that I realized it was the ends
of my hair tickling my elbow when I turned my head slightly. so
I was shooing away a fly that wasn't there.
Not the same as sitting on my hair but a milestone none the less.
Kevin
Good call!! I've had that happen several times [grin]
