So I've finally reached 18 months on October 1st 2008. My goal was to achieve a tail by the end of October.
18 Months ago I was almost bald and I'm amazed at my progress so far.
My hair can now go Into a full tail as even the bangs reach the back (barely fall out sometimes... needs a good half inch to one inch to be fully secured)
I can also tie it back very loosely now! No more tight tails :D.
Still not shoulder length (back is) but at this progress it's not long before I get there! :D
Anyway here are some pics... I'm not trimming to even out the hair until the bangs reach past the shoulders.
This one's a month old but it's the only one I have with my hair down at the moment... heh:
I was looking forward to your update, as our hair is very similar (straight on top and wavy in the end). Only 5 more months till I've got the same lenght as you now, and I can make a full tail.
It suits you very well and is in good condition. Now you've got the full tail, growing it very long will be easy.
Thanks a lot... Yeah I've been able to tie it since Feb... But never fully like now.
It's starting to straighten out a lot more now as it's longer and the weight is pulling it down.
Next goal is shoulder length bangs.

Cool Alan. Your hair is coming along nicely, and your ponytail is getting close to being stable (meaning none of your hair will fall out). That is a great progress from being bald 18 months ago. Keep it growing. As for trims, waiting is a good idea; I would wait till I reach my desired length before thinking of a trim.

congrads on another milestone man! one and a half years is certaintly a long time go grow from bald and does it ever look good! im at about 19 months and the ponytail suitation is the same for me as well bro some of my front bangs wont quite go in yet bu tim almost there as you are , I would say around the 2 year mark the full tail shall stay in fully without any problems def keep that mane growing dude \m/

That is great hair! I am in the process of growing mine out from a number 4 buzz cut. I would really like to have mine like yours in next 18 months! Same color as mine. I run 7 miles a day and I am hoping with hair that long it wont be too hard to handle. Anyways, congrats on keeping with a goal and achieving it!
Hopefully by end of next summer I'll have decent pony tail.

Oh and no the piercing is still there... I lost the tip of it and I have hair on top of the piercing so it covers it haha.

Coming along really well there Alan, thats a good length for 18months, I remember from this point onwards changes happen so quickly and you feel like a true longhair.

It's progress pics like yours that help keep me going. I'm at about 11 months growing and still feeling awkward, although less so than 3 months ago. Seeing how good your hair looks at 18 months helps ease the waiting, somehow.
