I'm back in Phoenix for a few days before returning to Texas for another month of environmental work in support of the Hurricane Ike recovery. I did make it to the Elephant Room back on October 3rd and 4th, and again on October 11th. We're working 12 hours a day, seven days a week, so I didn't stay more than an hour each time. The jazz band Just Released was pretty good! I didn't see many longhairs on any of those nights. The bartender has a short ponytail, and one of the dudes that collects the cover charge has awesome chops. Otherwise, the manes I saw were surprisingly conservative.
