Hi there,
Well I finally got some time to sit and listen the the new Amon Amarth CD "Twilight of the Thunder God" this week.
I do have to say it's a very good listen and on par with their previous albums and I'm sure they will do a very good live show at Wacken next year. I certainly of the way the music moves along like a Viking horde stampeding across a village leaving nothing standing behind them! So if your looking for something for you Christmas list you can't do wrong with that. Okay I know it's not up to everyone's taste in Seattle!

I saw them live a couple weeks ago and it was incredible, their new songs are definitely on par with their other material. Belphegor and Ensiferum were there as well, and I have to honestly admit that Ensiferum gave the best show, even though Belphegor was my favorite band there.
I just saw them live a few nights ago aswell with The Absence, Belphegor and Ensiferum.
Every band that night was amazing, especially Ensiferum & Amon Amarth, not to mention they did do a ton of sync windmill headbanging that night to!
Also I never realized how long the lead singers beard was until I saw them live lol it goes with his hair when he headbangs its awesome
I really like their new album, although I think it isn't quite as good as With Oden on our Side, which was incredible. Some songs just aren't as memorable and strong as the ones on With Oden, but it is still an excellent album. Amon Amarth are a very consistent band. The title track crushes, and the video for it is pretty awesome with sword wielding Vikings.
I really like there new album, I will probably go to Wacken this year and can't wait to see them (and a lot of other bands) there.
