Happy Sunday All! Was a great day for a hike in the virgin redwood grove just 2.5 miles from where I live...nature at it's undisturbed best. Hope everyone is doing well.
Cheers,
Max
Max, Great shot of you in the redwood forest.
Awesome trees, beautiful hair.
peace, jonalbear
Hey Jonal, thanks for the good words...was a beautiful day indeed. Hope you are doing well.
Take care,
Max
Hi Max,
Looks like you had great weather today just like I did back east here however a bit on the cool side.At least the sun was out as that's what matters I suppose.
That's a great shot of you with the redwoods as it must be amazing to live that close to such beauty. Its hard to imagine how those trees survived so long in the forests.Your hair is looking really great and is getting longer from when I saw you out here last summer.I guess the ball cap is going to be a trademark for you as most of your pics include them.I do remember the one where you were hat less though:)Anyway glad you had a great weekend and hope you upcoming week goes well my friend.Cheers
Mark
Hey Mark, good to hear from you. Yeah, it was a beauty of a day today...although somewhat cooler than the past week. we were near 90 degrees two days ago...only about 70 today.
These redwoods are amazing...it's like walking into a pre-historic forest, many of the trees are 300 ft. tall and over 1,000 years old. It's a joy to have it so nearby. Included is another redwood pic.
I think I have gained about 1.5 or 2 inches since I saw you in July. Perhaps a growth spurt??? I don't know. You may be interested to know that I was HATLESS for 3 whole days last week. So, I am beginning to come out from under the hat...so to speak. I think NuttiDave would be interested in this development also.
Always good to hear from you my friend. Have a good week upcoming.
Take care,
Max
Would this be the Armstrong Woods? Awesome trees, awesome hair!
Hey MG, you are correct...Armstrong Woods it is! And thanks for the compliment.
Hope you are doing well.
Max
The trees in the forrest are amazing, I hope to visit it once in my life.
Thanks for the update, long hair and nature goes well together.
Hey Vincent, yes you should try to see the redwoods at some point...it's a spectacular wonder of nature. you are correct, long hair and nature are pretty natural!
Cheers,
Max
Awesome Max! in a few months your hair will be down to your elbows! Very nice photos and excellent update, the new facial hair style looks great too.
-Phil
Hey Phil! Thanks very much. Glad you like the photos. Elbow length...can't wait for that...at that point I will have achieved my original goal...woohoo! Hope you had a good weekend Phil.
Cheers,
Max
What beautiful scenery! You are lucky to live so close by such a cool place. It looks like where they probably filmed parts of The Return of the Jedi for the forest moon of Endor.
Your hair really looks good too. So natural looking on you, like you were meant for long hair.
Hi Matt! Yeah it is beautiful at Armstrong Woods. I'll have to check on the Jedi filming...LOL
Thanks for the compliment on my hair and looking like a natural for it...I really appreciated that.
Be well,
Max
Hi Max,
I have always thought that the Redwoods are one of the most majestic living things on the planet, and how blessed you are that they are so close to your home. One of these days, I hope to see these awesome trees with my own eyes.
Your hair is sure growing quickly these days, and is among the fastest growing of anyone on the hyperboard, and I suspect your terminal length will be very long. It appears wavier in this photo too!
Cheers,
David
Hey David, yes I am truly happy to be near such a terrific natural wonder...the redwoods. I never get tired of taking it all in...you get a special feeling amongst nature's giants...it's very special.
My hair seems to have experienced a growth spurt in the past 8 weeks...for some reason, I'm happy about that. The reason it's looks wavier is because I did not comb it out after showering and it sort of dried that way. Wish it was like that naturally.
Hope you get a chance to get out this way next year as you stated but since you now have a sweetheart...well...that may change your plans. Hope you are both doing well.
Cheers,
Max
Hi Max and I'm jealous. I have stayed within the Redwoods near Pescadero CA. in a cottage in the past and is something never to be forgotten. I just loved it. Unless one is there to see those trees in person, one would never know how glorious it is to be in one of those forests. So glad you had the pleasure of hiking within.
LUCKY!
Justin~
Hey Justin, you are correct, I am very lucky to be so close to such glorious natural beauty. I am there very frequently...one of my favorite places to go and I ALWAYS take lots of pictures...I never get tired of it.
Hope you had a good weekend.
Max
Max
...your roots are showing ! HA!
Lovely area...one of my favorites. I love the aroma, sort of a sweet musk.
As always, your hair looks great !!
Thanks for Sharing
Walter
Hey Walter...my roots...LOL, that was a good one. Yeah, those redwoods are sweet...glad you liked the pic and tbanks for the compliment. Hope you are doing well.
Max
Wow,isn't that where star wars was filmes-where Luke meets those small, fury dudes? And I might be saying something stupid, but the big piece of wood you're sitting on looks like a dinosaur face Oo.BTW,your hair looks awesome and natural, and it kinda gives you the Aragorn from LOTR look.Keep it up,Max.Peace =).
Hey Rafael, You know, possibly the filming was done around here...Matt B. also said that and I thought he might be joking...I'll have to find out. Glad you thought the root system looks like a dino because I have always thought the same thing. Have not heard that from anyone else but you...so good deal.
BTW, enjoyed your update several days ago. Your hair is coming along nicely...wish mine as as thick...you have good genetics going on.
Thanks for getting in touch and for the good words. Hope you had a great weekend.
Cheers,
Max
Your hair looks super Max. I have not hiked among the redwoods for years but would like to again in the near future. I live about 60 miles SE of you in Richmond and visit with Bill Choisser fairly often. Keep growing that mane. Waist length would be a good goal, and with straight hair, very likely within reach for you.
Scott
Hey Scott, thanks so much. Perhaps one day if you get time you should think about getting up this way for a hike. If you are ever in the area let me know. Waist length hair for me...still a dream...but ya nevah know!
Take care,
Max
I do get up there. I ride a bike to stay fit and don't ride in rain. It was raining down south in Richmond on this day so I headed north to flee the rain. I think it was in January or February of 2008. I will drive and have driven as far as 150 miles from home for a dry and safe ride. I have quite a bit of free time. Feel free to e-mail me.
Scott
Hey Scott, now that's dedication! Great pic of you on the river...looks like the Russian River. Thanks for the email invite.
happy cycling
Max
You got the location right, Max. It is in Guerneville on the river, near the Safeway store.
Scott
Wow, Max, that looks amazing. You've made me jealous!! Cool photo and location! You look very good.
Cheerz,
Hegg
Hey Hegg...you'll just have to see the redwoods for yourself one day to relieve that jealousness. LOL Thanks for the compliment.
Cheerz back,
Max
What an inspiring photo, --- Armstrong Redwoods State Park, perhaps?
And the hair is lookin' AWESOME, my friend!!
There is nothing more sacred on Earth than a virgin forest of California Coast Redwoods... other than maybe a virgin head of looooong hair (lol)!!
From one tree-hugger (and hair-hugger) to another,
Ken
Hey Ken, you are correct, Armstrong Woods at it's best. Thanks for the compliment. Regarding your virgin comment...LOL LOL
I never get tired of visiting the redwoods...I do it at least once every two weeks or so and that qualifies me as a tree hugger then I suppose.
Take care,
Max
That's awesome Max, I loved visiting Muir woods when I was in the bay area great to see.
Take Care
Kevin
Hey Kevin, yes that's right...you got to see for yourself when you visited...
Thanks for the feedback Kevin.
Cheers,
Max
Both the redwoods and your hair are excellent examples of "nature at its undisturbed best." ;-)
And I always forget how HUGE those trees are!
Mouse
Hey Mouse, thanks for the undisturbed nature statement. Yeah, love those redwoods...and to think that nearly 90% were logged...
Cheers,
Max
Hi Maxie-babes, thats an amazing tree, we don't have anything quite that spectacluar over here. The hair is also looking mighty fine my friend, it is getting really loooong now isn't it?
Thanks for posting,
Take care big buddy
Dave
Hey Dave, yeah these trees are amazing. I'm finally feeling like a true longhair now. Woohoo!
Hope you have a good weekend upcoming.
Take care,
Maxie-Babes
Looks great Max, and a very cool scenery as well:)
And i've noticed you're a cap fan too, i think it looks great with longer hair:D
Hey Simon, thanks. Yeah, I'm a cap fan but I seem to be going capless more these days the longer my hair gets. Enjoyed looking at your vacation pics
Cheers,
Max
