since my hair is over 19 months growth now its all rubbing against my shoulders and becoming alot more curly at the ends how many months will it take me to get out of that phase cause im more frustratd with my hair then loving it more so i just put my hair in a ponytail alot now instead of wearing it loose until the stage is over ;/
Good to know I'm not the only one having these problems!I don't know when one gets out of this most annoying hair stage, but I know it ends one day,and then your hair becomes really easy to manage. If that makes you happier,I'm going through the same problems as you,Mark, and I too wear a ponytail when the ends of my hair are a mess(most of the time).Just try not to worry too much about it,and don't comb the back of your hair when it is wet,as it will only turn it into a tangle mess, and try conditioning the ends of your hair a lot, leaving a little bit of conditioner on it after showering. What works well for me is putting all my hair in a ponytail when my hair is almost dry after showering,as it helps taming the curls and controlling the frizz.Good luck going through this stage, and you can always come back here for help.Cya round mate =).
I remember that phase being over by 19 months. I think it will last a little longer for you because you have a curlier hair than I do. I would suspect by 2 years your hair should be long enough to go around your shoulders and not curl up on them.
Have you tried using a wee bit of Jojoba oil on the hair ends? I've now entered the early phrase of hair touching the shoulders and find that this helps a lot with protecting the hair.
Cheers,
Duncan
I guess that's the best thing to do, wear it up for a few months, until the hair grows past the shoulder. look on the bright side, at least you CAN pull it up!
if your hair is all cut one length then i most definitely recommend a constant ponytail lol. at the back my hair looks MUCH shorter than in the front because of the rubbing against my shoulders and shirt collars. then I stretch it out and it amazes me how long it actually is!!

Yeah, that about sums it up. And then, all of a sudden, you'll love having it down again...unless it is windy or humid - these conditions wreak havoc on the curly heads of the world.
Keep on growing.

I remember that stage and I too wore a ponytail a lot for a year to 18 months. My best guess would be you'll need about 5 or 6 inches of growth to be well away from this stage so about a year
give or take. don't sweat it a year will go by fast and putting it up in a tail you'll get used to doing and you won't think about it, after a while the year will be gone before you know it.

I've got the same problem and I wear a ponytail too.
Not because of the curls, that doesn't bother me but because of the tangles created by my jacket messing with my hair.
