"Bonjour" everyone, I thought you'd enjoy hearing that there are a lot of men with long hair in Paris. Lots of young guys either with a heavy metal look, a "Lord Byron" look, ethnic style with cornrows/beads or a fashion look - long hair either down or in a bun, with skinny jeans and a nice sportcoat. Especially gratifying for me, as an older guy at 59, are all the "mature" ones with long hair. I come to Paris every year and I've never seen as many as this season. Although I'm only at my 15 month growth since a close crewcut I'm getting enough length that friends have complimented me on my "new look". I am staying in the Sorbonne area and I see lots of professors with long hair (and students too, of course). Some of my French friends have even said I now look like a writer or artist!
Sorry I haven't posted an avatar yet. I would like some more length before doing so, especially because of you guys who have such fantastic manes. Meanwhile, I thank everyone at mlhh - you are all such a great inspiration!
In closing, rest assured (lol) that long hair is healthy and thriving in the city of light! In a few weeks I'll be back in Oregon and will enjoy all the long hair there also.
Kindest regards and Happy Halloween, johnnie
Can you define a "Lord Byron" look??
Hello JS Thanks for writing. I had seen, on Utube, someone in London getting a "Lord Byron" hairstyle. They took his long hair and added some waves to it. He was in some wonderful period clothes. However, after your email, I checked paintings of Lord Byron and seem to find that he had short hair. My apologies for using the man's name in the wrong way. Meanwhile, my compliments to you - your hair looks great and it must be great fun for you and your son to be in your historic group.
Best, johnnie
That's so cool to hear, John, --- and I found the same to be true when I visited Scotland in May of '06. I got your private e-mail, by the way, --- thanks so much!
Take care, and talk to you again soon...
- Ken
Hi Ken, Thanks for your thoughts and glad you got my private email also. Hope you had a good Halloween and very best to you and yours. All of us will look forward, hopefully, to some Christmas photos from you! Best, johnnie
Lovely!
Have a great Halloween in Paris.
Cheers,
John.B
Bonjour John Thanks for your email. And I'll look forward to an eventual rendezvous with you. Very best, johnnie
Great and when would that be!
Hello Everyone,
In 11 days I will either confirm or infirm whether long hair in Paris is common place besides on the "moppographic" statues here and there, and the 17th century paintings of the Louvre.
In 2005, I visited both London and Paris, and found more longhairs in the streets of London than in the streets of Paris. In Paris, during my stay in 2005 I counted about 5 longhairs, and more were in the St-Germain district. It will be interesting to see how this changes in 2008.
Have a great day,
Georges in Montreal.
Hi Georges,
Do have fun in Paris.
Cheers,
John.B
Bonjour Georges
Have a great time in Paris - be sure to check out the 5th arrondisement around the Sorbonne, etc. That is where I saw the most longhairs. Your photo, in the Paris metro, looks great.
Bon voyage, johnnie
