Hi Guys
Very late last night I suddenly decided to do an "impromptu act" on You Tube talking about how to care for long hair "after washing." Whew............my style is so off the wall. You'll find out. LOL But........it's fun to be nuts! (Parish the thought of being "normal.")
Anyway, it runs for 8 minutes and can be found by looking-up my user name: Musique3579 on You Tube. Sorry I am so bad with computors that I didn't know how to post the link here.
*For some reason the video will have pauses, so if you let it run for about 30 seconds and start over the whole thing should play all the way through just fine. And, if while there you would also like to hear some more of my musical compositions which I have added, they are there for you listening pleasure (or displeasure). Hard to Head-Bang to my Classical Music. LOL :-)
Enjoy guys and hope you are all having a great weekend!
Justin~
Movie: FOR MEN WITH LONG HAIR
Starring: Me
Producer: Myself
Cast: I
I haven't been on here in at least a year, I think. :) Anyway, lovely hair, jovial little video you put together, and I love the music you have up on youtube. Beautiful!
I think you take a bit more time than I do. I use my hands as well, but also a brush with those plastic stalks with the beads at the end. Don't worry, I'm very careful with it. The horse hair style never seems to go that deep. Oh, that's what you forgot. You maybe should have brushed from underneath the hair, facing out. That's what I do to get all those hairs. Maybe you don't.
Anyway, thanks for the video! I enjoyed it! :D
Hi Paddy and great to see you back here. Thanks for your comments and I have included your advice about brushing the underside (which I do) in the comments under the movie. I just winged the whole thing, hence missing that point. Thanks for catching it and hope you are enjoying a great weekend.
All the best-
Justin~
Hey Justin, very much enjoyed watching your video...well done, informative and motivating too. Just curious, what kind of headband was that you were wearing??? Sure hope I can get my hair as long as yours someday. Thanks again for sharing. I'm going to listen to your music now. :-)
Cheers,
Max
Hey Max
Hope all is going well with you and glad you enjoyed my little "off-the-wall movie."
You know, that headband is the neatest thing and I got the idea for it from some of the Native Americans who live nearby. All it is is a strip of leather and VERY EASY to make! You can buy strips of leather (and they come in different widths and colour shadings) at Jo Annes Fabrics. If there is one in your area you can make one too. They are cut to whatever length you want as there is a continous spool of the several varities from which to choose. Just figure-out how much you need and it hardly costs anything. Wrap around your head and tie it where it feels most comfortable. Then snip off however much you would like of what is left over from where you tied it. EASY! And do I EVER like "Moron proof" things that you can't get wrong even if you try.
All the best-
Justin~
ps: "If(?) you like any of the music I have put on so far, please don't hesitate to rate it. Hint. LOL :-)
Thanks very much Justin for the info...I will see if there is anything like a Jo Annes Fabric place nearby so I can get a leather headband. PS Love your music...you are very talented.
Cheers,
Max
Hey Max
If the store I mentioned is not in your area, probably any fabric store would have something similar. Also, stores that carry Bead Craft supplies sometimes have spools of leather. I made my 1st band from leather purchased from a bead store. Alas, I lost the band and when I went to the Bead Store they no longer carried REAL leather but instead some kind of plastic(?) substitute saying it was better. Well, it was the worst possible and didn't even feel good.
Thanks for what you have said about my music. I appreciate it very much.
Good luck with making your own head band.
Justin~
Hey Justin, cool video, really great to see and hear you in real life as it were. Quite a comedian, you speak very well on camera - a man of many talents!!
Cheers Dave
Hey Dave-
Glad you liked my "off-the-cuff" video. Comedian.........who, me? LOL If you ONLY knew how hard if was to refrain myself from cutting loose and turning the whole "Impromptu" into a Circus! Wish you could do a tutorial on how to use PhotoShop. I'ed watch that one for hours!
Thanks Dave
Justin~
If only I lived round the corner to you, I could give you lessons no problem.
~ Dave :-)
Hi Justin,
What an outstanding video, and of course, an awesome mane you are blessed with! It seems that with your routine, your hair would dry much more quickly, than simply letting it dry in the air.
Up to now, I have not been able to find a wide toothed wooden brush ( I hope I can find one in the future), and use a wide toothed plastic one instead. I use the boar bristle brush after my hair is thoroughly dry, and detangled.
Thank you for sharing!
Take care,
David
should have said, "have not been able to find a wide toothed wooden COMB", (original post said "wooden brush")
Hi David and thank you for such kind comments. Very much appreciated always! :-)
As for a wooden comb such as I have.........I believe I got it at the Body and Bath Shop? (Some name like that. There are a chain of these stores and the comb is only around 6.00-7.00 if I remember. Perhaps there is a Mall up your way that would have one of these stores?
Take care and hope you had a great weekend.
Justin~
Excellent video Justin! It's certainly nice to see your hair "in action"!
Cheers,
Peter
Thanks alot Peter and glad that finally all could see what this excentric Justin just might be like in person. (Ha Ha Ha........Shhhhhhhhh...........a secret.) I'm nuts and it is FUN to be this way! Normal? No way for me. Too dull and boring for a fee spirit like myself.
Take care-
Justin~
I did a search on Musique3579 and the only videos that came up were your musical compostions [great, BTW!] but nothing on hair. Not real sure what's going on. If someone could post the YouTube URL, I'd greatly appreciate it...
Thanks!

Hey Rick
That was so nice of him to post the link and I am so glad that you enjoyed the video and the music as well. Thanks so much and I'll get to your email tomorrow.
All the best-
Justin~
An informative video and useful advice...shwing!
Cheers,
John.B
Hi John
Thank you ever so much for your kind words and I know how supportive you are of the guys on the MLHH and of the nicest comments of encourgement about growing out long hair.
Hope you had a nice weekend way over there in the UK and wishing you a fine week ahead.
With all best wishes-
Justin~
Hey Justin, what a superb video you put together. I really enjoyed seeing how you take care of your hair, you do a great job. I'll be trying your technique my next wash day to see how it works out. Thanks for making the video as I'm sure it will be great help to many others! Good work, 5 stars.
*applause*
Hegg
Hey Hegg
As always, you are just so kind with your remarks and I appreciate them very much. The "technique" may or may not work quite the same for you.............yet. :-) When the hair reaches a longer length (which I just know you WILL be reaching), you will find that for your hair-type most likely the way I am currently doing my own hair will work for you just as well. Still a bit easier at your length which is hardly short. No way man!
Take care Hegg and thanks again.
Justin~
Hope I did this correctly:
Click on link and it will bring you right to the movie. To see the musical compositions, type in search in the right hand top: Musique3579, and that should bring you to those.
If you want to leave a comment or rating, guess the only way to do this would be to go the YouTube route as posted above this posting. Hope this works.
Justin~
Thanks, Decapitated Vogg!

Ugh Oh!
Two videos in as many days.....what have we unleashed on the world? HA!
Great video, Justin and it is super to have a "voice" now attached to your posts.
Thanks for Sharing.
Walter
Hey Walter
So glad you enjoyed that spur the moment winged-Video. But you are so right...........what has been unleashed? :-0
Think the world can survive this? LOL :-)
Take care Walter and I am so glad that this is the time for you to enjoy nice comfortable weather where you are for so many months until the heat is back.
All the best-
Justin~
ps: Getting chilly here and in a month the plants will be tucked snuggly to bed in their hay. Kind of like a Carnivorous Plant Manger as they sleep through the Winter. Right now they are all wearing coats so as not to catch a chill, cold or the Flu. I mean really........woever heard of a Venus Flytrap coming down wth the sniffles! LOL
Your hair absolutely gorgeous, Justin. It is nice to hear your voice as well as seeing your lovely hair. I am amazed that your hair is so free of tangles after washing.
I wish mine was that tangle free after washing. I get a lot of lint related tangles. I am beginning to wonder if a boar bristle brush would scour away that lint and stop the tangling. But I am also hesitant. I have heard that brushing damages the cuticle.
I had this idea that my hair had some damage, which would cause tangling. A look at my hair through the microscope showed no apparent damage. See for yourself. My hair is very fine. This one is one of my bigger diameter hairs at only 70 microns. (The average hair is about 80.) Mine average only 55 or 60.
Wow I didn't realise there was such a science with longhair!
Cheers,
John.B
I am trying to determine the cause(s) of tangling. Next I will do a closeup study of the ends of shed strands to see if there is excessive fraying of the cuticle. That can and will cause tangling.
Scott
Hey Scott
Glad you enjoyed the video, but I have to clear something up. Prior to making the movie I had washed and conditioned my hair as usual and allowed to dry. Then I went after it and took the usual 5-10 minutes on it to detangle etc. It was only after that that I suddenly did the spontanious video........so my hair had ALREADY been detangled in advance. What I was showing was what should be done. So please don't feel bad that your own hair comes out like you saw in the movie on wash day. Mine isn't that good at first either.
From what I can tell of your own hair, I would say it was doing very well and that you have no worries. But then you are the most scientific and understand EVERYTHING about hair unlike anyone else. Guess I wouldn't give it a moments worry "unless" there was a very rapid shedding out of the blue and hair loss as never before been known. But, if that ever happened, the way you treasure your hair and take care of it would not be the cause. It would more like be it was probably going to happen anyway. (But I don't really think this will be the case.) We both love having long hair so much........and just the thought of losing it is the most depressing thought of all.
Take care Scott and thank you again.
Justin~
Hi Justin,
Thanks for posting that ! Very useful (even for me, I suppose :))
By the way, I'm glad you also put online your piece of music. I
really like this style but I didn't spend enough time listening great composers like Debussy yet. I should !
Good bye
Vivien
Hey Vivien
I am so grateful to you for the correction of the French Spelling of Summer Evening. Thank you and thank you as well for your compliments and comment made in one of the musical selections.
The "Style" is very much influenced by Debussy and Ravel......but not Eric Satie. All of the greatest music composed in my opinion from 1890-1935 was centered in France, and that thanks to your government for pumping funds into the arts. Had that not have been the case, the world of Classical Music today would not be a rich as it is. And, your government is still seeing to it. Quite wonderful to say the least.
Take care Vivien-
Justin~
Very well done Justin and it's sure to be of help to many. Thanks for producing it!
Hey Jason
Thanks for saying it was well done and even though produced by "Wacko Productions Inc." it might serve a purpose to some guys. Now I wish if I had it to do over I had made a list of a few more things. Oh well, too late now. I'll probably remove it after about a week but I am amazed at all the views it is receiving. Ha Ha Ha. Bet quite a few are left in disbelief!
Take care Jason and as always my best to you.
Justin~
Hi Justin,
I really liked the video, my hair isn't long enough to put in front of me but I do my finger combing sort of the same.
I've been expirenting going with finger combing only but right now I use my wooden comb after finger combing like I used to.
Brushing only works on my hair a few days after washing when it's more oily.
Cool to see and hear you btw, now I "know" you better then only the avatar picture.
Hey Vincent
So glad you enjoyed that little excentric long hair video. Thanks. Brushing and combing works differently for just about everyone I would say, and ea. person has to find their own way......I was only showing what worked for me and now I wish I had stated this in the Video. And yes, I would imagine actually seeing and hearing the person makes one more aware of what the person is like in real life.
My best to you Vincent and to let you know that your own long hair is absolutely stunning! You are truly blessed.
Justin~
Hey Justin great video my friend! If I didn't know better I would have figured this was produced in Hollywood.LOL.Just joking but you looked at home doing this clip and I have to say a lot of what you discussed are methods that I currently use.Actually I only recently started with the boars bristle brush and it was such a fantastic feeling using it.It does a great job removing those loose hairs from your mane and leaves your hair so silky.I have to say it does take time picking up this info but the newbies are so lucky to have the mlhh as its a wealth of knowledge. Thanks Justin for taking the time to do your infomercial as I give it my blessing:)
Mark
Hi Mark
How interesting that you use similar techniques with your own fantastic mane as do I. Bet you could do a far better video than that "thing" I produced spur the moment. And, you would have the great long hair to show for it.
Thanks so much for your kind comments. They are appreciated more than you will ever know.
All the best-
Justin~
what a great video Justin! def gave great tips on long hair that i want to try such as the wooden comb maybe it would help with my tangles since i get them alot in the mornings aka bed hair haha but awesome vid man thanks so much for posting it!
Thanks "MarkS" for the gracious words. Much appreciated. As for the wood comb, you would probably like it a real lot. They are really just so neat! You will still meet with tangles, but those are met with with everything anyway. And in the end the fingers save the day.
Take Care
Justin~
Hi Justin
I do shed a lot of hair, like you, but I use a plastic comb, not a wooden one, since wood breaks easily and is more expensive. I do not use a brush at this time. I wait for my hair to be mostly dry before I comb it. I finger comb it first, and then use my comb. When I come to a snag in my hair, I just pull through it. Like you, I do not want to spent a lot of my time on my hair.
Matthew aka Regardless
Hey Matthew
Actually, the wood comb I have would be quite hard to break, but then of course I have a different hair-type than you do so I could hardly be called an expert if it would do this on anothertype of hair. And YES, waiting for the hair to dry before messing with it is the safest of all. You're on the right track for sure. :-)
Take care-
Justin~
Justin what can I say. You've gone Hollywood and now we'll have to pay royalties. LOL
Excellent video and sprinkled with humour to boot. Now we have something to refer people to when they ask some of the repeat questions some of which you demonstrate the answer to.
I can't wait to see your star on Hollywood Blvd.
Kevin
